Šmēlings, historisma un neoklasicisma stils), senie alus pagrabi, klēts, vecā pils un parks, veidojies 19. - 20. gs. Šobrīd muižas pilī atrodas Taurenes pagasta pārvalde un kultūras nams. Muižas kompleksā ietilpst ēka, kurā atrodas Vecpiebalgas novada tūrisma informācijas punkts un Taurenes novadpētniecības ekspozīcija (senajā ledus pagrabā). Parkā (ziemeļos no pils) uzmeklējams piemiņas akmens, kas veltīts komunistiskā terora upuriem. Pie Nēķena muižas sākās 0,4 km garā Cieres dabas taka, kas iepazīstina ar Gaujas krastu mitrājiem.

Der Posten der Küstengrenzwache befindet sich in der ehemaligen Seefahrtschule. In der nachsowjetischen Zeit wurden in den einzelnen Räumen der Gebäude Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten angeboten. Der Turm der Grenzwache ist einer von den am besten erhaltenen Objekten solcher Art am Strand.

 Das Gotteshaus war von 1932 – 1938 an der Stelle einer alten Holzkirche nach einem Projekt von J. Cīruļis erbaut worden. Bis 1994 befand sich hier ein Filmverleih. Heute kann man in der Kirche eine Fotoausstellung über den Bau der Kirche besichtigen – „Vom Fundament bis zur Turmspitze, alte lettische Kirchenbauämter in Fotografien. Vom 37m hohen Glockenturm aus  hat man einen Blick über die Stadt .

Im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert besiedelten die Westküste von Peipussee die Altgläubigen, die aus Russland wegen Kirchenreform flüchteten. Die Dörfer der Altgläubigen befinden sich heute kilometerlang am Ufer von Peipussee. Die rund 8 km lange Dorfstrasse (Dõrfer Kasepää, Tiheda, Kükita und Raja) reicht bis zu der Stadt Mustvee und ist heute einer der wenigsten Orten in Estland, wo die Altgläubigen leben. Strassendorf zusammen mit Gebetshäusern und Kulturerbe ist ein attraktives Ausflugsziel und bietet den Gästen stimmungsvolle Erlebnisse.

Reinis Kaudzīte, co-author of the first Latvian novel “Times of the Land-Surveyors” (“Mērnieku laiki”) stayed in Pēterupe Village from 1913. 
In 1913 R. Kaudzīte bought a small property (currently No. 17 School Street), where he spent the last years of his life along with the lady of the house Karlīna Damroze. After the death of R. Kaudzīte, Karlīne – the well-known and respected midwife – continued to run the household. During Soviet times, the house was converted into a residential building. The neighbouring garden-house also acquired the status of a one-room flat, which in 11 August 1991 was turned into the Public Museum of Saulkrasti History. In 2008 the basic idea of the museum was changed and the house underwent redecoration. Now the museum is dedicated to the life of Reinis Kaudzīte in Pēterupe. The exhibition consists of furniture, crockery, household items, tools, photographs and other items of the early 20th century contributed by Saulkrasti residents. 
“Neighbour’s bench” and a signpost with references to places where the writer once travelled to are located in the garden by the building.
