The Baltic Cider brand was created through a joint project to open the Australian market to craft ciders from Latvia, Estonia, and Finland. As part of the project, cider makers will be invited to training sessions on export processes, while in Australia, over the course of three years, special marketing and tasting events will be organized to introduce potential distributors to the Baltic Cider brand ciders.

This is an open call for craft cider producers interested in joining the Central Baltic Programme project “Exports of the Baltic and Finnish Craft Ciders to Australia”, No. CB0700297 (BALT-FIN-CIDER), which aims to launch exports of craft ciders from Latvia, Estonia and Finland to Australia under a common Baltic Cider brand.
The BASCIL project partners, in cooperation with culinary tourism experts Hubert Gonera and Niclas Fjellström, have updated the BASCIL Manual – Practical Solutions for Designing Culinary Tourism Services. The manual is designed to support food producers and farmers in diversifying their business activities by developing sustainable culinary tourism experiences based on high-quality local products.
The manual guides producers step by step in creating attractive tourism services using tools and strategies based on the Business Model Canvas. It also includes 12 practical examples from BASCIL pilot regions and summarises key findings, lessons learned and recommendations based on the experience of 88 companies across 12 regions, offering a clear roadmap from product-based business models towards the experience economy.

On June 11, Gabe Cook, a ciderologist from the United Kingdom, led a training session "Qualitative experience on the impact of terroir on cider, how to use it in story telling for visitors" - how to welcome the visitors, making the stories and info for the visitors about the cider - explaining about the reason where the apples grow and why Baltic cider is so special in the taste and variety.
From October 6–10, 2025, tour operators and media representatives from the UK are invited to explore nature tourism opportunities in Latvia and Estonia during a FAM trip organized by Baltic Nature Tourism. The curated itinerary showcases seasonal highlights such as bird migration, bog landscapes, sauna traditions, and local gastronomy. Participants will travel from Tallinn to Riga, experiencing authentic nature-based tourism products suitable for international markets
Last week, from June 10th to 11th, the third partner meeting of the “Baltic Cider” project took place in Vidzeme, gathering project partners and cider producers from Latvia and Estonia. During the meeting, marketing activities were discussed, as well as piloting and analysis processes, along with the development of a terroir map.
Project partners and cider makers from Latvia, Estonia, and Finland met in Riga to discuss the upcoming activities and shared goals of the BALT-FIN-CIDER project. Over the course of three years, we plan to introduce our ciders to the Australian market and for the cider makers – to start sales.

This Baltic States conference focuses on environmental accessibility and presents the implemented solutions in the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route (Jūrtaka) and the Forest Trail (Mežtaka).
