All travel enthusiasts are welcome to acquaint themselves with the best and most exciting tourism offers at the biggest in the Baltics travel market – the 19^th International Travel Trade Fair “Balttour 2012” – to be held at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre in Riga, Latvia, 10–12 February.

While everyone is expecting the snow and the weather is a bit dark why not to treat yourself with a relaxing spa package? New hiking tour at the Gauja National Park is now available for bookings for the next season. It features the best trails and attractions within the ancient Gauja River valley with many tributaries and deep ravines with massive sandstone cliffs from the Devonian period. The tour passes also cultural monuments of pan-Baltic importance – the Turaida Museum Reserve, scenic Sigulda Castle ruins, the medieval old town of Cesis with its mighty castle ruins and St John’s Church, the reconstructed lake settlement at Āraiši as well as the wooden baroque manor - Ungurmuiža Manor.

This guidebook is meant to offer practical advice and information.  Please bring it along with you when travelling.  We have written the book for people who like to observe wild nature, learn about various cultural and historical monuments, or be active tourists who will visit national parks on foot, on a bicycle, by boat or on skis.  We have not forgotten about those of you who want to drive a car, either.  The guidebook offers information about the most important environmental, cultural and historical values of Latvia’s four national parks, also listing the most interesting tourist destinations.  Maps are included, and GPS co-ordinates are offered for the most interesting objects so as to make it easier for you to find your way around the parks.

Lauku ceļotājs invites to presentation of Map of Military Heritage on 24th of February at Latvian War Museum in Riga. At presentation discussion will be raised - is our military heritage - sites and stories - important only to us who have experienced it or it might be also atractive tourism product. Diese Radwanderkarte des Baltikums stellt in kurzen Beschreibungen 14 verschiedene Radstrecken mit einer Gesamtlänge von über 3.700 km vor. Darüber hinaus sind auf der Karte 11 Kanutouren, 33 Naturschutzgebiete (Natura 2000) und 403 Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten.

In der Wanderkarte sind 23 Strecken zum Wandern mit der Gesamtlänge von über 500 km angegeben Die Strecken führen hauptsächlich an Meeresküste, Waldwege oder Ufer von Flusstälern entlang. Zusätzlich enthält die Karte Information über 283 Tourismusunterkünfte.
