The Jaunpils Dairy was opened more than 100 years ago, in 1912, and it produces semi-hard and soft cheeses, cottage cheese, cream, desserts and other dairy products. Only milk from Latvian farmers is used, and the products are exported to more than 17 countries in the world. Products are also sold at the store that is adjacent to the company. |

In the centre of Līgatne, on the right bank on the rapid Līgatne River, there is a viewing plan which offers a close-up look at one of the most impressive sandstone cliffs which rise above it – the Lustūzis cliff. There are artificial caves in the wall of the cliff, which locals use as cellars and as places to store their property.

Immaculate Conception of Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church of Nautrēni (Rogovka). The construction
works of the brick church lasted from 1901 till 1914. It is an example of Romantesque style. The
organ was bought in 1939; it is a national cultural monument.

The Švekšnos Estate and its park are among the most beautiful venues of this type in Žemaitija. Alongside the estate is an impressive park, with two segments that are linked by a wide parade staircase that is decorated with vases and offers a lovely view of the lower terrace. On an island I the central pond of the park is a statue of the goddess Diana. A colourful sundial, a vase on a pedestal, a sculpture of St Mary, and a sculpture called "Angel of Freedom" are all found in the park. Other elements, including viewing areas, pathways and gates have also been restored. |

Today it seems unbelievable that just 20 years ago there were buildings on the coastline with massive projectors that were rolled onto a platform at night so as to shed light on the nearby sea and beach and to look for potential violators of the border regime. Only the buildings and the ruins of the platform are still there – they have been seriously damaged by the waves of the sea.

At the end of a wooden footpath in the Planči swamp is a viewing area and place for leisure. This is the place where you can enjoy landscapes of the high-type swamp and breathe the unusual air of the swamp. The Swedish army built a modern fortress during the 1640s with five bastions and two gates. There were 120 cannons and mortar throwers, barracks for soldiers, flats for officers, a garrison church and warehouses for food at munitions. After the Great Northern War in 1710, the fortress was taken over by the Russian army. After the Soviet occupation in 1940, the Soviet navy took over the fortress. Alongside it is a former Soviet army facility with abandoned buildings and a monument to sailors who served in submarines. The fortress is open for tours on Saturdays and Sundays. |

SIA N. Bomja bakery “Lielezers” is a sole proprietor enterprise of Normunds Bomis, founded in 1991 and located 3 km from Limbaži. The story of this bakery started more than 25 years ago, when craftsman Alberts Blumbergs’ knowledge and experience was put into practice and very delicious rye bread was made. In the bakery, traditional salinātā rye bread is made by hand, maturing scalded flour in aspen tubs for 24 hours and fermenting with sourdough. Salinātā rye bread is registered in the EU food quality scheme as a product with traditional speciality guaranteed. Bread baking is led by the experienced master bakers Lāsma Bome and Valters Kanopa. St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church of Nagļi was built
in 1862 by landlord Nābels. Some time ago, Nagļi Church was a branch of Viļāni Church. The Bernardian
monks served there. After the closing of the cloisters in 1930s, the church was served by priests.
