This partly forested hillock stands 40 metres above the surrounding area and offers impressive views. The fact that this was once a castle hill is attested by the presence of a moat and remnants of defensive fortifications. It is thought that Lettigalian tribes settled here in the 10th century AD. You can climb the hillock to take a look at the surrounding landscapes. |

Koņuciems of Pape is one of the few seashore fishing villages in Latvia to have preserved an authentic environment to the present day. The Latvian Open-Air Ethnographic Museum has a branch here, “Vītolnieki”, and this is an authentic and ancient fisherman’s farm. +371-2926-2283. The sad fact is that some people have built modern buildings in the village, and it has now lost its earlier untouched charm. |

The Zasa Lutheran Church is in the northern part of the Zasa park, was built in 1750, and is a small Lutheran church. The organ, which was produced by the distinguished organ builder Andrejs Sūnākslis, was recently restored. The graves of German soldiers who fell during World War I are near the church. |

It lies between Pīlādžu street and the left bank of the river Siliņupe. In the 3rd to 2nd millenium B.C., there was a fishermen and hunters' settlement in the place of which there is installed an informational commemorational stone (Sculptor O.Skarainis). The settlement near the river Siliņupe is the oldest known human settlement in the area of the Ķemeri National Park. There are found many artifacts: pottery fragments and arrow tips, flint and amber pieces, etc..It is possible that the adjacent residential area has been the place of a cemetery. A small portion of the finds is displayed at the Lapmežciems Museum, the other ones are located in the National History Museum of Latvia. |

At the Aizkraukle Lutheran church along the upper part of the shores of the ancient Daugava River valley, there is a bit of an old road from which one of the most beautiful views of the central section of the river can be seen, particularly when the trees are bare. Approximately one kilometre to the North-west is the Aizkraukle castle hill, which offers a no less impressive view.

Kihnu Island is the largest island in the Gulf of Rīga and the seventh largest island in Estonia. Its total area is 16.9 km², the island is 7 km long and up to 3.3 km wide. The Healing Gardens is a part of the Upmaļi biological farm that occupies 125 ha of land. The 4th generation of Bergmanis family runs the farm. Māra and Dainis, the present farm owners, involve their family members to work for preservation of the old and rare fruit and berry cultivars that have been planted in the 30-ties of the previous century. The gardens also contain tree varieties that have medicinal powers and some rare varieties like elder, walnut tree, edible chestnut, mulberry tree and others. Together with the herb plantations, the Healing Gardens cover over 12 ha of land. The hosts have over 30 years experience in natural healing and Ayurvedic tradition. Based on this experience, they produce teas, balsams, creams, oils and other products under the brand name AnnaABergmans. |

At the end of a wooden footpath in the Planči swamp is a viewing area and place for leisure. This is the place where you can enjoy landscapes of the high-type swamp and breathe the unusual air of the swamp. This recently built 26-metre wooden tower is on Ūdri Hill (58 metres above sea level). It is on the north-eastern shore of Lake Usma, less than one kilometre from the lake. The tower offers an excellent view of Lake Usma, its islands, and the vast forests which surround it.

The open-air museum was proposed in 1992 by the sculptor Ojārs Arvīds Feldbergs, and it is located on the banks of the Ancient Abava River valley and on land that was once part of the Firkspedvāle and Briņķpedvāle estates. The park features contemporary art, and the museum also organises symposiums, creative workshops and other events. |
