It is possible to see Latvian dark-headed sheep, learn about the specifics of their breeding, lifestyle and sheepmen branch in Latvia. In addition to the sheep, it is possible to see different birds – turkeys, gees, ducks, chicken  and pearl chicken.
If you plan on watching the animals, leave your own dogs at home.

On the farm there is also situated the Star Space observatory where during the ~ two-hour-long visit you will hear simply presented stories about stars, planets and other topics.After the lecture, outside, in fresh air you will be able to put the acquired knowledge to use, by trying to spot some constellations – how to find them, how they look like, etc. After you learn about constellations, you can observe them in the observatory’s powerful telescope which is open to public use.

A biological farm in the lovely nature park of the Ogre River valley.  You can tour the farm to see how biological cattle from the Charolais breed are bred.  Walk down our nature trails to watch cows grazing in the fields.  Visit the little Akmeņupīte stream and the large oak trees that are in the area.  You can see the rapids of the Ogre River and, in the spring, broad fields of ramsons.  The venue offers tastings of its products, and you can also purchase meat to take along with you.  

Die Wirtschaft züchtet lettische, weißrussische und litauische Pferdearten. Es werden Ausflüge mit Pferden und die Ausbildung von Anfängern angeboten. Entspannungsübungen auf dem Pferd und ein seltenes Angebot – Reittherapie oder eine besondere Entspannung für Kinder und Erwachsene sind im Angebot. Im Winter können sie Schlittenausflüge machen mit anschließendem Lagerfeuer mit Braten vom Fleisch und Glühwein. Übernachtung.

Lettische Küche: Pilzschnitzel, Kartoffelklöße mit getrockneten Pilzen oder Fleisch, mit Sauerrahmsoße und Zwiebeln, gebratene Pfifferlinge mit neuen Kartoffeln, geschmorte Gemüse und Pilze, Erdbeeren mit Eis, das lettgallische Hausbranntwein Šmakovka.

Das besondere Gericht: Himmelsbrei von Klajumi.

Мини-зоопарк «Скайсткрасты» предлагает возможность познакомиться с разными животными. Здесь живет альпаки, ламы, пони, ослы, бараны, козы, собаки, кролики, павлины, лошади, еноты, суслики, нутрии, зайцы и различные виды уток, гуси, куры, фазаны, голуби. Есть возможность покормить животных, а также взять напрокат лошадь и покататься на лошадях. Есть пруд для купания, а также отдельная сауна у большого пруда. Возможность устроить пикник на Малой Югла.

Для проживания предлагаются два гостевых дома. В большинстве из них есть кровати на 18 человек, а также банкетный зал и русская баня. Во втором гостевом доме могут разместиться 10 человек, также имеется финская сауна.

Here you will find African ostriches, a South American rhea, an Australian emu, pearl hens, pheasants and peacocks. You can purchase ostrich and other eggs, as well as souvenirs made of eggs and feathers.

Das Café-Gasthaus "Liepas" befindet sich in Akniste. Die Gäste können schmackhafte Gerichte aus den auf dem eigenen Betrieb oder lokal angebauten Produkten kosten (Bio-Gemüse, Kalbfleich und Milchprodukte). Es ist möglich, die Tiere der biologischen Landwirtschaft "Liepas" zu beobachten, zu füttern und zu liebkosen. Es werden Beratungen über Themen Schafzucht, Herstellung von Milchprodukten und Landwirtschaft gegeben.

Im Obergeschoss befinden sich 4 Zimmer für Übernachtung.

Lettische Küche: Kalte Suppe, Suppe aus Hammelfleisch und frischem Kohl, Gemüsecremesuppe, Karbonade vom Schwein,  Kartoffelpfannkuchen, Erdbeersuppe, Torte aus dem "Selga" Gebäck.

In der geerbten Wirtschaft (Wohnhaus aus Holz mit dekorativen Zargen und Fensterläden) stellen die Wirte nach alten und modernen Rezepten Käse aus der Milch her, die aus den auf diesem Hof gezüchteten Kühen gemolken wird. Die Besucher können hier Milch, Sauermilch, Buttermilch und andere Milchprodukte verkosten, sowie den Herstellungsprozess beocbachten und an dem Prozess teilnehmen.

This zoo features sheep, goats, large Chinese pigs, rabbits, various exotic animals and birds. Children love contacts with the various animals, particularly the Japanese macaque which is called Nilsons. The farm has been nominated as a family-friendly place.

The owner of this farm produces ecological vegetables, fruits and berries, and two protected breeds of cows.  She chairs a club for lovers of horses and breeds local breeds of horses.  The owner has a horse breeding museum with more than 1,000 exhibits.  She also organises various celebrations for the Assumption of Mary festival, etc.

Visitors are welcome to this ecological cattle farm to learn about its history and operations.  The farm offers the "Aubraki" breed of cattle, oats, spelt and forest berries.  You can buy fresh and aged beef that is ecological, as well as the berries.

The “Lamb Club” is a farm in Mazsalaca, and it is special because the sheep live in a real club!  The owners offer the atmosphere of a farm at which the sheep play major roles.  Enjoy mutton and sheep milk foods and beverages, feel how comfortable it is to read your favourite while sitting on a fluffy sheepskin, and, in order not to get cold by the campfire in the evening, you can purchase warm woollen socks and woven woollen cloaks.

The owners hope that people from Latvia and all around the world will spend more time at the farm, because accommodations involve a new glamping tent that is as close as possible to nature and the healthy rural environment.  Don’t lose a lick of the comfort that you are used to in your everyday life!

The owners, Ilze and Valters, will be happy to give you a tour during which they talk about herding sheep.  If you contact them in advance, they will prepare a tasty mutton meal for you.  The tour can also be supplemented with various activities such as games, quizzes and creative workshops at which sheep wool is utilised.
 

The farmstead "Vitolini" specializes in horse breeding, as well as horse-riding lessons. It is possible to go horse-riding in the forest or to take a ride in a horse team.

The farm breeds goats and uses goat milk to produce cheese and other products. A presentation hall offers visitors a chance to taste ice cream made of goat milk, as well as purchase goat-related souvenirs and other products. There are tours of the farm, too.

The farm makes goat’s milk cheese and other goat’s milk products. Goats, sheep, rabbits and domestic birds are bred here. You can purchase products by ordering in advance, excursions on the farm are organised during summer.

The biggest ostrich farm in Latvia, located near Kuldīga, provides the opportunity to purchase healthy and valuable ostrich meat products and go on an excursion in the ostrich and goat farm.

Latvian blackhead sheep are in a clean environment at the Ances farm, which is in the Northern Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve near the border with Estonia.  It is in the Naukšēni Parish, where chemical plant protection substances and mineral fertilisers have never been used intensively.  The sheep roam freely during the winter and summer, with fencing to protect them against wolves and wild boar.  The farm only uses female sheep born as twins or triplets, including animals for genetic resources.  All of the sheep come from German blackhead sheep and are only mated with high-quality LT rams in January, February, August and September.

Jõeniidu is a small, lovely family farm offering accommodation and meals from vegetables grown on its farm and goat's milk.

The farm breeds more than 150 sheep. There is a location to feed lambs, and the owners organise animal auctions and “Sheep Days” events. You can take a tour of the farm and purchase pedigreed sheep and sheep-related products.

The farm shows traditional rural life activities, raising sheep and Estonian Blackhead sheep. A heritage trail on the farm takes in a sacred grove, ancient burial sites and fields, and we tell stories of ancient Estonians and history of the farm. Handicrafts are displayed and wool workshops are offered.

This farm is engaged in dairy farming and rearing chickens; the obtained eggs and milk is processed in its very own dairy plant. You can taste various dairy products, including ice-cream in the farm, and also get to know the entire production process. You can also order meals for a picnic and apply for a dairy product masterclass.

The Jokas farm is 4 km to the East of Turlava.  Owner Jānis Uzulēns has purposefully developed and expanded the farm ever since it was established in 2011.  He is particularly proud of his herd of beef cows, some 70 in all, as well as of five horses.  The farm produces sausages and other meat products and also offers services such as managing forests and fisheries.

The farm breeds breeding cows (Galloway, Hereford, Limousine, Charolais and Latvian brown species). You can take an informational tour and watch the feeding of calves.

The farm offers to look at horses, ponies, rabbits, Brama hens and chickens. Children are offered to ride a small pony named Xavier either on horse back or in a small carriage.

Saimniecība piedāvā zirgu izjādes (ratos un mugurā), iespēja apskatīt dzīvniekus lauku sētā (zosis, vistas, truši, teliņi, kazas, aitas, suņi un kaķi). Pļavas ar ārstniecības augiem, mežs, dīķis, stārķu koks. Saimniecībā var apskatīt trušus, mājputnus, eksotiskos putnus, murkšķus, aitas, kazas, pudurkzas un punduraitas. Visi dzīvnieki izvietoti divos norobežotos voljēros, kur nesteidzīgi var apskatīt dzīvniekus, uzdot interesējošos jautājumus saimniekam. Pēc pastaigas ir iespēja sarūpēt sev maltīti ugunskura vietā un atpūsties lapenē.

AS Agrofirma Tērvete is the largest multi-sector farming company in Latvia, operating in crop farming, dairy farming, horse breeding, public dining, biogas manufacturing and brewing of beer.  Visitors can tour a brewery and the farm.  The brewery produces popular Tērvete beer and kvass.  Visitors can taste the products and take a small tour of the facilities.  All of the types of beer can be tasted with delicious snacks.  The Tērces farm is a dairy farm with modern technologies and 3,000 dairy cows.  Visitors can tour the facility and have lunch at the company’s dining hall.

This is one of the largest goat farms in Latvia, with approximately 160 pedigree goats (Alp, Anglo, German White Noble and other breeds), as well as pigs for breeding purposes. You can take a tour and help in herding the goats. Kid goats can be seen in the spring. You can taste various kinds of cheese, ice-cream made from goat milk and watch how the goats are milked (around 5:00 PM every day). You can also taste and purchase canned meat. No preservatives are ever added to the farm’s products. 

The farm produces vegetables, medicinal plants and honey. You can look at Charolais cattle and buy products. The lady of the house will talk about her experience in relation to her farm and biological farms that are in the neighbourhood.
