This is one of the most visually expressive coastal defence batteries in Latvia. Why? Because most it has been fully or at least partly washed into the sea, creating a truly unusual landscape, particularly during stormy weather. This is an historical monument which is subject to the mighty power of Mother Nature. The battery can also be seen from the Northern breakwater of Liepāja. It’s worth hiking the four kilometres along the beach to the Northern Forts. Along the way, you can take a look at the No. 23 Coastal Defence Battery.

Atrodas pie Kuldīgas pils dzirnavām, kur straujā Alekšupīte pirms ietekas Ventā izgrauzusi dziļu „kanjonu” dolomītā. Šo dēvē par vienu no augstākajiem Latvijas ūdenskritumiem (4,15 m). 17. gs. ūdenskritumu ievērojami pārveidoja – paaugstināja un nostiprināja, lai Alekšupītes straumi izmantotu dzirnavu darbināšanai. Atrodas Grobiņas centrā, Dzērves laukuma malā. Pirmā baznīca Grobiņa bija celta jau ap 1560. g., bet nākamā – 1596. g. celtā iznīcināta 1659. g. zviedru iebrukuma laikā. Pēc Kurzemes un Zemgales hercoga Jēkaba Ketlera iniciatīvas 1664. g. tiek uzcelts jauns dievnams, ko atjauno 1892. gadā. Tas dedzis 2. pasaules kara laikā, bet vēlāk atkal atjaunots. Šobrīd notiek altāra restaurācijas darbi.

This extremely secret bunker was one of the most important facilities in Soviet Latvia in the event of a nuclear attack. Under the code name of “Rest Home,” the bunker is nine metres under the ground at the Līgatne Rehabilitation Centre, and it would have been the place where Soviet Latvian government officials would have gone in the event of an attack. The status of a secret object was lifted only in 2003. The underground installation has been preserved fully.

The Forest House (Meža māja) was built in 1933, and this is one of the most outstanding buildings in Latvia from the style of National Romanticism. It used to house an enormously popular restaurant, “Merry Mosquito" (Jautrais ods). The restaurant was popular among the spa’s guests, but also among prominent people of the day. A children’s sanatorium was installed here after World War II for kids from all over the Soviet Union. When the Ķemeri National Park was established in 1997, the building became its headquarters and today it is a modern visitors’ centre.

Ilziņš jeb Vestienas dzirnavezers pazīstams ar nostāstiem par tajā "periodiski uzpeldošām kūdras salām". Saskaņā ar vietējo iedzīvotāju sniegtajām ziņām, minētā parādība gan sen jau vairs nav novērota. Tajā pat laikā ezers un tā apkārtne ir nozīmīga daudzu aizsargājamu biotopu un sugu dzīves vieta. Ezers ietilpst Vestienas aizsargājamo ainavu apvidū. Ezeru var redzēt, braucot pa Ērgļu - Gaiziņkalna ceļu. Var pakāpties arī blakus esošajā paugurā (ziemeļos no minētā ceļa un ezera), no kura paveras plašāka skatu perspektīva.
