The saloon is in the restored mansion of the Sieksāte (Berghof) Estate, and there is a milk museum in the granary and the cheese-making building. Guests can try their hand at milking cows and at churning and tasting fresh butter. The birthplace of Latvia’s first prime minister and, later, president, Kārlis Ulmanis (1877-1942) was turned into a museum in 1993. The homestead has undergone unbelievable transformation during the past two decades. The landscape has been cleaned up, and buildings that were lost or were in poor shape have been rebuilt. There are a house, an ancillary building, a cattle shed and barn and a granary. The exhibition focuses on the life of Ulmanis, featuring an impressive collection of agricultural equipment and instruments, including Latvia’s largest wooden butter churn. |

Biological Goat Farm “Līcīši” is an organic goat farm located in the municipality of Jelgava, surrounded by forests and the scenic Misa River. How the Cheese Is Made The farm uses a modern goat milking parlour equipped with a ramp and milking machines for 12 goats at a time. After milking, the milk is immediately transferred to a cooling system and rapidly chilled to ensure high quality, freshness, and excellent flavour in the cheese production. Due to the natural cycle of goat farming, production follows a seasonal rhythm. For Visitors The farm welcomes families, school groups, and tourists. Camping "Adamova" is located in a large and scenic area less than 3 km from the center of Krāslava, by the river Daugava. Camping "Adamova", opened in 2021, offers relaxation in one of 5 cozy cabins. Each lodge can accommodate up to six guests. They are equipped with everything you need to spend a comfortable vacation close to nature. In 2022, there are 2 glamping tents opened, a hot tub and a country sauna. Both electricity and water connection are available, there are places for tents and campers. In the central part of the campsite, in the administration building, there is a bathroom with amenities, as well as an equipped kitchen. The campsite provides canoeing routes in Daugava river. On the west coast of the Gulf of Riga, in the Lapmezciems municipality, there is a family-owned company "Reinis-B" specializing in the production of hot smoked fish products. Reinis-B specializes in the production of smoked fish products, using only natural alder wood during the smoking process. Offering both local and overseas fish, prepared after a variety of smoked recipes and traditions. You can buy Reinis-B products in several places in Latvia: Ragaciema Fish Market, various fairs and exhibitions. In cooperation with the market of Mara, depending on the date, products can be bought in Salaspils, Bauska, Dobele, Jelgava, Kauguri and Riga's "Rimi" squares. Reinis-B organizes tastings for tourists (not less than 10 people) on Thursdays, which allows you to witness the whole production process with your own eyes and taste all the products of the company. About 20 minutes by car from Sigulda, this is a venue that offers you a chance to go fishing in a pond that covers 3 ha and offers every opportunity for relaxation. You can rent a boat, and during the winter you can go ice fishing. Next to the pond is a two-story house with a kitchen and an opportunity to spend the night as long as you bring your own mattress. There are three rooms on the lower and three on the higher floor of the building. Next to the house is a lean-to, and there is a pergola not far from the pond. The Saulgriezes guesthouse is near Bernāte with 10 flats of different types and sizes. There is a pine forest near the guesthouse, and the beach is 500 m away. All of the flats have sleeping areas with bed linens, a leisure zone, a dining area and a kitchen where light meals can be prepared. The Baltās anemones centre is in a lovely place on the right bank of the Lielupe River near Mežotne. The lowlands feature a guesthouse with a lovely look at cliffs on the left bank of the river and dolomite cliffs on the right bank. Along the river are fields of vegetables, including pumpkins, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, beets, potatoes and herbs, along with a fruit and berry garden. Guests have access to three two-person glamping tents in a unique place in the Veclaicene Parish, which is right by the border between Latvia and Estonia. The tents are well-equipped with a hardwood bed with a comfortable mattress, two pillows, two large blankets, bed linens, two towels, two duvets, a chest for visitors’ things, two easy chairs on a terrace, and a little table with a bench. This water mill dates back to the 1920s and was restored in 1992. You can view the historical mechanisms and learn about the grinding process. Here you can examine and purchase crafts by more than 40 Lettigalian craftspeople. A guide dressed in an Ancient Lettigalian folk costume will tell you about the lives of ancient Baltic tribes, the emergence of craftsmanship in the region, ancient laws related to ethics and work, and traditions. There are demonstrations of the crafts and lessons about the ancient skills. Groups can enjoy a luncheon of Lettigalian dishes, and learn how to bake bread and prepare beverages in an old-fashioned Lettigalian kitchen. The local craftsmen's salon and home producer's store Cymuss and Latgaļu kukņa, a member of the Latgale culinary heritage network. For groups, Latgaļu kukņa offers lunches and a special skills school for learning to prepare Latgalian food, bread and drinks. A biological farm in the lovely nature park of the Ogre River valley. You can tour the farm to see how biological cattle from the Charolais breed are bred. Walk down our nature trails to watch cows grazing in the fields. Visit the little Akmeņupīte stream and the large oak trees that are in the area. You can see the rapids of the Ogre River and, in the spring, broad fields of ramsons. The venue offers tastings of its products, and you can also purchase meat to take along with you. |
