First the route goes to the birch juice and wine maker where you can taste this traditional and refreshing drink, then a goats farm where to taste various diary products and see the animals. Further on head to Sigulda with the Olympic Bobsled Track and three medieval castles located on the banks of the river Gauja - Sigulda, Turaida and Krimulda. There is also a good network of picturesque walking trails. Then explore historic village of Ligatne established around the Paper Mill and visit local craftmen located in one of the caves typical for the area. Cesis is charming town with mighty medieval castle ruins and New Castle. Visit hemp grower and try the hemp prepared traditional way. Enjoy Koni Mill where wool is processed with old fashioned machines and warm blankets are hand-made. Visit crafts studio at Staicele and try to spot the stork colony with more that 30 nests along the road. At Mazsalaca where there is a nature park with trails featuring beautiful steep sandbanks of the river Salaca. The river is also famous for its lampreys and further on the route you could see the weirs for traditional lamprey catching. At Saulkrasti walk the Dune trail and enjoy the beach. Further on visit cranberry swamps where you can taste healthy berry in some form depending of the season. Visit elegant Birini Manor with huge park and great restaurant and return to Riga. |

The private museum of antiquities of Zigurds Safranovičš was founded in May 2010. The collection of the museum contains around 50 thousand objects, of which 99% of exhibits have been donated. The oldest and rarest, according to legend, 300-year-old item – Ernst Glick's refrigerator. The museum's surroundings are a large park of the former Baron Wulf's estate, where it is currently possible to spend the night in tents, as well as available rest areas - canopies, fire places, grills, utensils for cooking, etc., drinking water (from a well), available electricity for telephones, cameras, etc. for charging. The former building of the State Bank is at A. Pormaļa Street 11 in the centre of Jēkabpils. The 1931 building was erected in the style of Classicism, and the interior has been preserved to this very day. The Jēkabpils branch of the SEB Bank occupies the building at this time. |

The smoke sauna is an important part of everyday life in the Võru community in Estonia. It is the centre of a rich set of traditions including the actual bathing customs, the skills of making bathing whisks, building and repairing saunas, and smoking meat in the sauna. The sauna is a building or room heated by a stove covered with stones and with an elevated platform for sitting or lying. It has no chimney, and the smoke from the burning wood circulates in the room. People usually go into the sauna together and remain until they are sweating. Water is thrown on the heated stones to produce hot steam-laden air and bathers beat their bodies with whisks to remove dead skin and stimulate blood circulation. After sweating, whisking, relaxing and possible healing procedures, people cool themselves outside and rinse their bodies with water. The procedure is then repeated. The smoke sauna tradition is primarily a family custom, usually practised on Saturdays, but also before major festivals or family events. Its main function is to relax the body and mind. Families take turns hosting each other. Usually an older family member is responsible for preparing the sauna, accompanied by the children who gradually acquire the necessary skills. The smoke sauna tradition is part of the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. |

The number of types of peonies in this garden is close to 400, and collect Dagnija Voika is proud of one of the largest collections in Latvia. There are 30 types of shrub peonies, and other flowers that grown there include bearded irises, Siberian irises, daylilies, as well as less common plants such as yuccas and eremurus. The garden is open in June, when the owner organises a peony festival and offers tours. The valuable peony roots are used to produce the PEO series of cosmetics, and plants can be purchased. |

A comparatively large swamp to the North of the Zaļā dune, this is an important place for sulphurous waters, just as is the case with Zaļais swamp. The swamp is cut in two by the 3.5 km Ķemeri-Antiņciems road, from which interesting landscapes can be seen. The road is not appropriate for cars, however. To the East of Raganu swamp is Lake Putnezers, which is difficult to access. There is a small car park with an information stand on the shore of Lake Melnezers alongside the Ķemeri-Jaunķemeri road. The historical and overgrown Old Ķemeri road can be used to get to the seashore from this location. |

The Vilciņi farm is one of the largest and most modern agricultural manufacturing companies in Zemgale, always using environmentally friendly methods. The farm is in the Krimūni Parish in the heart of the historical region of Zemgale. It was established in 1991 by the parents of the current owner, Arnis Burmistrs. Today the farm specialises in grain farming on ~2,200 ha of land. The farm uses precise agricultural methods to save money and preserve the environment and human health. It is actively involved in EU-financed projects, has a modern set of agricultural equipment, and has installed a local meteorological facility. Tours are available. |
