The Rūķīšu tēja farm is one of the leading producers of medicinal plants in Latvia.  The company ensures the quality by growing and harvesting plants that are dried, stored and packaged very carefully.  The farm uses no aromatises, no preservatives, dyes or thickeners.  Group tours will enjoy tasty teas and recommendations on those that should be purchased.  Products are sold at very attractive prices.  The farm offers a wide range of medicinal plants from which teas can be produced.  Pay a visit when the plants are blooming and each little area has a unique and typical colour.  

AS Agrofirma Tērvete is the largest multi-sector farming company in Latvia, operating in crop farming, dairy farming, horse breeding, public dining, biogas manufacturing and brewing of beer.  Visitors can tour a brewery and the farm.  The brewery produces popular Tērvete beer and kvass.  Visitors can taste the products and take a small tour of the facilities.  All of the types of beer can be tasted with delicious snacks.  The Tērces farm is a dairy farm with modern technologies and 3,000 dairy cows.  Visitors can tour the facility and have lunch at the company’s dining hall.

There are fewer and fewer locations where practitioners of ancient crafts such as blacksmithing can be found. Visitors to this smithy can watch the blacksmiths at work and commission or buy products which represent artistic and decorative design.

The workshop manufactures household products such as benches, tables, hangers, kitchen equipment, sauna barrels, other barrels, outstanding souvenirs of wood, etc. You can commission or buy the products, and tours are also available.

The venue features tools, farm machines, mechanisms and everyday objects that are typical of Latvia’s countryside. These are both in the yard and in the buildings of the enterprise. You can help to bake bacon rolls and loaves of bread in areal country oven. The owners will be happy to provide you with an informative tour.

Water mill that is used for grinding grains: coarse milling, pearling, and making groats. At the annual Sowing Festival and Harvest Festival, the exhibited steam-powered machine and threshing machine can also be seen in action. During festivals, countryside markets and tastings also take place.

This bakery has a wood-fired stove, and it uses old recipes and local raw materials (with no GMO) to bake bread, biscuits and other treats. Small groups can take tours, learn about baking, and taste and purchase the bakery’s products.

This is the only travertine processing workshop in Latvia. The rocks come from the nearby Vecsaule Parish, which is one of the few places where Latvian travertine can be extracted. The craftsman manufactured decorative materials. You can watch him at work and also examine and energetic pyramid of travertine.

Ms Medne is famous for her cheeses, which have specific tastes at the pan-Latvian level. She offers information about cheese making an offers treats to visitors, producing Summer Solstice cheese, sweet cheese with raisins, cheese with sunflower seeds, and alder-smoked cheese. She also bakes honey cakes and biscuit cakes. You can purchase cheese, as well.

Das Gartenbauinstitut ist das führende Forschungszentrum für Obstbau und Gemüsebau in Lettland. Es befasst sich nicht nur mit der Auswahl und Einführung von Pflanzenarten, die für die landwirtschaftlich-klimatischen Bedingungen der baltischen Staaten geeignet sind, sondern stellt auch nahrhafte, ballaststoffreiche Lebensmittel aus den Gärten des Instituts her. Während der Frühlingsblüte haben die Gäste von Dobele die Möglichkeit, durch einen der größten Fliedergärten Europas zu spazieren, wo 240 verschiedene Fliederarten blühen. Im Mai/Juni können die Gartengäste des Gartenbauinstituts die Aprikosenbaum-, Kirschbaum-, Pflaumenbaum-, Apfelbaum-, Birnbaum- und Quittenbaumblumen genießen.

This is a farm which popularises Latvian lives, organises traditional rituals, and provides guests with tasty country foods such as porridge, dumplings, pierogi and pastries made of grain and roughly ground flour that are produced at the farm itself. You can purchase teas, herbs and country goodies.

Special foods: Dumplings made of roughly ground whole wheat flour with cottage cheese and bacon.

Tour groups with at least ten people can enjoy tastings of various homemade wines (23 types in all) that are made of fruits and berries – three types of wine each time. The owner will tell you about winemaking technologies and ways to drink and enjoy wine.

The Eleja creamery offers tastings of cheeses from the farm that is run by the Mālkalns family (apply in advance for the tastings!).  There are seven kinds of cheeses, including smoked and matured cheeses.  There is French cheese that has been prepared in partnership with a French cheese-making specialist, M Eribert.  Blūdži is in the Sesava Parish, 7 km from Eleja, and welcomes small groups.  The farm bakes bread, processes vegetables (tomato juice) and prepares other country goodies.
