These sandstone cliffs were once known as the Pieškalni or Pieškaļi cliffs. They are around 7 km to the North from the centre of Cēsis. These are the most monolithic sandstone cliffs in the Baltic States – around 700 m long (with some 330 m along the Gauja River) and a maximum height of 22 m. There is a viewing area which offers a grand view of the Gauja River valley. Water tourists will boat up to the majestic wall of the cliff and will be surprised at what they see! The name of the cliffs, Ērģeles, is the word for "pipe organ" in Latvian, and the name was supposedly given to the cliffs because of the echoes which can be heard there – they reputedly sound like an organ. Hikers and boaters must be very careful when in this area – please make sure that you are safe! Please note, too, that the infrastructure of the cliff is scheduled to be renovated in 2012. |

This ancient river valley stretches from Koorvere to the Otteni Windmill, and there are nearly 40 revealed sandstone cliffs from the Devonian age. Two of them, Väike and Suur Taevaskoja (the latter is 22 m high) are popular tourist destinations.

The castle was built as an almost exact copy of the architecture of Windsor Castle in the UK and is among the most unusual of the Estonian manor buildings. At least as interesting is the owner and initiator of the manor building design - Count Friedrich von Berg. There is also a Dendro park with rare species behind the Castle. |

There is no need to enter the bog to see it, there are good views from the highway Ventspils – Riga (77 km, bus stop “Pagrieziens uz Elkskeni”). The main value of restricted area is chalky fen bog with brown bog-rush (greatest habitat finding in Latvia). Be careful when stopping on the highway – mind the traffic! A couple of kilometers towards Riga, on the right side of the highway, there is sign to Grizu Velna kresls ( Grizu Devil Chair) which is an attractive boulder (protected).

Крестьянское хозяйство «Межацирули» основано 1992 году. Хозяйство находится в Елгавском крае Залениекской волости, в водозборном бассейне Лиелупе. В начале деятельности площадь хозяйства была 7,2 га; в хозяйстве было три коровы, 20 овец и 6 свиноматок. Сейчас в хозяйстве 700 га земли, 300 дойных коров, комплекс теплиц, в которых выращиваются салат и пряные растения. |

Аэродром в Вайнёде в свое время был одним из крупнейших военных аэродромов Советской армии в странах Балтии. Однако, еще до этого, во времена Латвийской свободной республики здесь базировались первые латвийские дирижабли. Ангары для дирижаблей были снесены и перемещены в Ригу, в которых в наши дни находится Рижский центральный рынок. С аэродрома в Вайнёде поднимались и одни из первых латвийских планеров. В советское время на аэродроме базировался 27-й полк противовоздушной обороны и 54-й авиационный полк истребителей, в состав которого входили 38 истребителей СУ-27 «Flanker». После восстановления Латвийской свободной республики аэродром в Вайнёде частично разобран, и большие железобетонные панели, покрывающие взлетную полосу и прочую территорию взлетного поля, были использованы для благоустройства Лиепайского порта. Еще сегодня на аэродроме сохранилось около 16 ангаров и часть взлетно-посадочной полосы - 1800 м из 2500 м. This territory was established to protect the rare tree specie in Latvia - common hornbeam, which covers approximately 4% of the territory, but the most visually interesting part of the area is the Tīrspurvs swamp, also known as the Dunika heath. This is where the visitor will find Latvia’s longest and most impressive swamp footpaths, which crosses the area from the North to the South. Visitors will be fascinated by the unique landscape of the central part of the swamp, where in some places there are not even small swamp pine trees. Various habitats will be found – small swamp lakes, mineral islands, marsh pools, etc., and that is to say nothing of all the birds in the area. |

Памятный камень в честь кавалера Военного ордена Лачплесиса Августа Муйжулиса установлен в Лапмежциемсе, на обочине шоссе (Р 128, Юрмала - Талси) около столбика 9-го километра. А.Муйжулис (1893 - 1941) был полковник - лейтенантом Валмиерского 4 - го пехотного полка. Расположенные рядом Тутени являются его родиной. |

This section of the Forest Trail leads through the entire Gauja National Park and gives an opportunity to see all the most beautiful places and sights of this national park of more than 100 km. Gauja National Park is the oldest and largest national park in Latvia. The ancient valley of the River Gauja is the deepest river valley in the Baltic states. The banks of the River Gauja reveal colourful sandstone outcrops, which are reflected in the water. The sights are most wonderful in springtime, when bird cherry trees are in full bloom, and in autumn, as the trees turn red and yellow. The ancient valley of the River Gauja has a distinctive terrain relief that can fluctuate by up to 80 m. The largest part of the road leads through forest paths, along the river, and exits the woods in Līgatne and Sigulda. Almost half of the park is covered by forest. Gauja National Park is known for the great diversity of specially protected forests, featuring herbaceous spruce forests, slope and ravine forests, as well as mixed broadleaf forests. |

Целостное здание церкви строилось в 1780 – 1781 гг. во времена барона Х.Ф. Бера, а перестраивалось в 1876 и 1888 гг. Церковь известна своим алтарем и кафедрой, выполненными в стиле рококо, и построенным в первой половине XVIII века органом. Церковь можно осмотреть изнутри. |

Это путешествие по самой впечатляющей речной долине в Балтии – древней долине Гауи – и глубокой древней долине ее притока – Абавы. На берегах обеих рек возвышаются живописные песчаные отложения девонского периода. Поселок бумажной фабрики Лигатне – это великолепный пример индустриального наследия европейского масштаба со своеобразной средой бумажной фабрики 19. – 20. веков.
