Medicinal plants and herbal teas

The watermill of the Krape Estate is found on the Lobe River in the Ogre Administrative District.  Owners offer tours of the mill so that you can learn how the old mill operates.  You can stroll along the banks of the river or learn about plants in the meadow.  There are places for tenting, but the main operation here is the production of elixirs from meadow plants, production of soy wax candles, production of etheric oils and hydrolats, a well as growing trout and African catfish that can be viewed during the season.  A new thing is SPA services with floating, a halotherapy salt beach and an aromatherapy steam system.

Floating is a unique way to boost your health.  You’ll be dipped into a warm magnesium salt solution, which will allow your body to relax completely in physical, emotional and intellectual terms.  The solution (MgSO4) is very concentrated, and it has a temperature of +37C, which is body temperature.  That’s what makes the procedure so relaxing.  Your body will not sink because of the concentration of salt, and you will float above it like bobber.  You will relax all of your tendons and possibly compressed nerves.  Your limbs will “oil up.”  Your body will receive a very necessary dose of magnesium through your skin.

You can also take part in baking KrapesKrepes crepes – home baked crepes made of milk from one neighbouring homestead and eggs from another neighbouring homestead.  You can also prepare a meal on a Himalayan salt board
 

Auf dem Hof werden aus Melisse, Himbeeren, Rainfarn, Frauenmantel, Wegerich und Lindenblüten Kräuterteemischungen und Teebeutel hergestellt (als Souvenirs oder Geschenk). Es gibt eine Imkerei. Die Hausherrin erzählt vom Leben auf dem Land, bietet Führungen zu Heilpflanzen und Imkerei an und zeigt, wie man traditionelle Gehege baut, bietet Verkostungen und Hofverkauf. Der Hof ist als Biohof zertifiziert, sodass großes Augenmerk auf gesunder Lebensführung liegt. Den Kunden werden folgende Tees geboten: Himbeere, Schwarze Johannisbeere, Lindenblüte, Mädesüß, Schafgarbe, Birkenblätter, Weiße Taubnessel usw.

Der Hof befindet sich im Bezirk Jelgava in der Gemeinde Vilce. In Gewächshäusern werden verschiedene Gemüse und andere Pflanzen angebaut. Aus den Heilpflanzen werden Salben hergestellt. Es werden Vorträge über gesunde Ernährung und Lebensart angeboten. Man kann die traditionelle Sauna benutzen.

Relax among natural meadows at Antiņciems, which is part of the Ķemeri National Park.  There is space for picnicking and tenting, with canopies for seminars and private events outdoor.  A guide will accompany you for a stroll through a meadow where you can truly sense the presence of nature.

Owner Sanita Matule teaches master classes related to products from the meadows – tastings and educational activities outdoors.  Sanita will tell various stories about Antiņciems, the border between Kurzeme and Vidzeme, traditions in growing chicory, etc.  There is a permanent spiral herbal bed for various herbs.  The owner grows chicory and offers chicory coffee.

Bei der Führung werden Einzelheiten zu den angebauten Pflanzen und deren pharmakologischen Eigenschaften erwähnt und die Pflanzen gezeigt. Im Hof kann man zudem Fahrräder ausleihen und auf Radwegen den Nationalpark Niederlitauen erkunden.

Die Kräuterfarm Ööbiku, die sich in einer ökologisch reinen Gegend befindet, befasst sich mit dem biologischen Anbau von Kräutern, Beeren und Gemüse sowie deren Weiterverarbeitung. Hier werden auch Wurzelgemüse, Obst und Beeren getrocknet.

Die Gastgeberin macht die Gäste mit Wildpflanzen, Elixieren und deren Anwendung in der Ernährung und zur Stärkung der menschlichen Gesundheit vertraut.

Aus dem Wacholder, der als Symbol der Insel Saaremaa gilt, wird auch ein wertvoller Sirup hergestellt. Die Gäste werden vieles über Wacholder erfahren. Von Frühling bis Herbst kann man die Pracht des Gartens genießen und das alte Bauernhaus besichtigen.

The farm grows and collects more than 80 types of medicinal plants, including peppermint, marigold, chamomile, oregano, St John’s wort, wormwood, oats, creeping thyme, broadleaf plantain, field penny-cress, meadowsweet, etc. You can take a tour and learn all about medicinal plants and how they are used. During autumns, you can purchase medicinal teas.

Der Heilpflanzenhof „Kurmīši“ befindet sich in der sauberen und landschaftlich reizvollen Gegend des Naturparks Schleifen der Daugava, und dem Landschaftsschutzgebiet Obere Daugava. Damit die natürlichen Standorte der Heilpflanzen erhalten bleiben, werden auf dem Hof „Kurmīši“ seit 1994 etwa 40 Heilpflanzen (Arten und Sorten) angebaut. Für Liebhaber von Arzneipflanzen und sonstigen Besuchern werden Führungen zum Thema Anbau und Verarbeitung von Heilpflanzen sowie zur Imkerei auf dem Hof angeboten. Anschließend kann man die Erzeugnisse des Hofs, Kräutertees, die mit Honig am schmackhaftesten sind, verkosten und kaufen. Eine besondere Atmosphäre entsteht durch die Kerzen aus echtem Bienenwachs. Auf dem Hof sind Picknickplätze vorbereitet und es werden Kerzen gegossen. Entsprechend kann man auch edle Souvenirs aus Bienenwachs kaufen.
