This facility was used in the past by communications officers, and it was also a training centre. The Ventspils Home Guard Battalion is housed here at this time. The facility is not open to civilians. Along the road there are metal structures which show where the entrance to the facility was once located.

Находится в стороне от площади Куршу, ул. Э.Венденбаума, д. 1. Старейшая церковь города, сведения о которой сохранились с 1508 года. Первый храм на этом месте был построен из дерева. После неоднократных перестроек (последняя – в 1893 г. под руководством архитектора Лиепаи Пауля Макса Берчи) храм приобрел теперешний вид в неоготическом стиле с башней высотой около 60 м. Церковный интерьер славится одним из самых выдающихся шедевров времен барокко в Латвии – алтарем (резчик по дереву Николя Сефренс младший), который в 2012 году отметил свое 350-летие.Алтарь считается одной из самых выдающихся работ Восточной Европы того времени. Ретабло алтаря (5,8 x 9,7 м) известно тематическим циклом страданий Иисуса. В храме находится третий по величине орган Латвии, который построен по эскизам композитора и органиста Альфреда Калниньша. Церковь можно осмотреть изнутри и подняться на колокольню. |

Atrodas pilsētas centrā, Atbrīvošanas alejā 98. Dievnamu sāka celt 1840. g. (iesvētīja 1846. g.) un tas uzskatāms par pilsētas vecāko sakrālo būvi. Nekvalitatīvu būvniecības materiālu izmantošana un cēlāju pieredzes trūkums bija iemesls, kādēļ 1854. g. to nācās pārbūvēt. Pie baznīcas atrodas 1867. g. būvēta Sv. A. Ņevska kapliča, kas veltīta cara Aleksandra II paglābšanās faktam vilciena katastrofā un stikla mauzolejs, kurā apbedīts baznīcas mecenāts ģenerālis Karaulovs (šobrīd tiek restaurēts). Dievnams ir atvērts arī apmeklētājiem. |

The saloon is alongside the Liepāja-Ventspils road (P111), alongside the restored wooden bridge across the Rīva River. The interior design is based on the sea. During the autumn, the large windows open up a view of salmon leaping across the dam of the windmill. Latvian cuisine: Chilled soup, baked potatoes in their jacket, baked filet of flounder and cod, baked herring in a sea buckthorn marinade, pork chop with mushrooms, sausages with marinated onions, grey peas with bacon, mashed potatoes, stacked rye bread, oatmeal with whipped cream. |

This fairly large wooden bridge across the Rīva River is a fairly unique phenomenon in Latvia, but it is one of few, if not the only bridge of its type. The bridge is in a convenient and easily accessed place, and of interest is the fact that it was once part of the Liepāja-Ventspils railroad that was installed during the first half of the 20th century. |

The farm produces homemade wines made from natural raw materials that are grown locally or bought from nearby farmers – apples, rhubarb and black currants. Black currant spirits are also available. During a tour, you will learn about how the beverages are prepared, taste them, and purchase some for yourself at the farm’s little shop. |

Pie upes ierīkotas vairākas atpūtas vietas ar soliem, galdiem, labierīcībām, šūpolēm, vingrošanas konstrukcijām, atkritumu urnām, kā arī ugunskura un telšu vietām. Pie atpūtas vietām Žocenē un Rojā ir izveidotas arī laivu piestātnes. Takas sākumā upes krastā labiekārtota vieta, kur upē ietek Rojas avots, ko kā ūdensņemšanas vietu iecienījuši vietējie iedzīvotāji. |

The owners have restored a fourth-generation bread oven to continue the tradition of baking bread. The family bakes bread in the autumn and winter months, from September to April. In the events organised by the Ventspils Seaside Museum they offer to taste traditional Latvian dishes that are in line with the rhythm of the seasons. |

The terrain in this territory was created during the Ice Age. There are the ancient river valleys of the Minija, Salantas and Erla rivers, along with groups of rocks.

Īdeņa graveyard chapel has Catholic church services. Īdeņa chapel was built in 1898 by the foundation
of dean Smilgevičs. The church is devoted to the honor of the Holy Cross. The chapel has a small bell tower
and the weatherboards. You shouldn’t miss the chapel’s special celebration that is the indulgences of St.
Francis of Assisi, stigmata day in September 17.

The saloon is at the edge of the Murjāņi-Limbaži road (P9) and alongside the Igate Castle. It is built on the foundations of a former windmill, and the wheel of the mill has been preserved. The old watermill is still hard at work and is used to mill grain for traditional porridge and buns. The saloon works with local farmers. Latvian cuisine: Mushroom soup, barley porridge with meat, barley buns, grit sausage with lingonberry sauce, crepes with jam, potato pancakes, fried plaice or pike, stacked rye bread. Special foods: Sautéed rabbit, stuffed filet of turkey. |

Here you will learn about home-based manufacturers, farms, companies and others in southern Vidzeme that produce various dairy products such as milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, ice cream, etc. From Rīga, take the Vidzeme Highway and turn toward Mālpils. On the way to Ērgļi and Jumurda, you’ll be delighted by the hillocks of the Vidzeme highlands and the lovely landscape that they represent. Near Ērgļi you will find Braki, the home of the classical Latvian author Rūdolfs Blaumanis, Meņģeļi, home of the Jurjāns brothers, and the Jumurda Estate. Drive on through Cesvaine, stopping to look at its impressive castle, and on to Madona, where you can have a delicious meal. From Madona, follow the lovely banks of the Daugava River to Koknese (Destiny Island, the Koknese castle, park and church), and on to Skrīveri, where the author Andrejs Upītis was born. There’s a homemade ice cream place and the factory that produces the universally known penuche candy that is sold under the “Gotiņa” brand name in Latvia. Then drive to Ogre for some Sierštelle cheeses and then back to Rīga. |
