The wooden building was erected in the late 19th century and features a museum which demonstrates the way in which people lived more than 100 years ago. Exhibits include household objects, the Rucava folk costume, socks and decorated mittens. Various events involving discussions, singing, games, dancing and weaving are organised, as are cultural and educational programmes such as “Evening Activities” and “A Rucava Banquet” with local foods from lower Kurzeme. The Baltās anemones centre is in a lovely place on the right bank of the Lielupe River near Mežotne. The lowlands feature a guesthouse with a lovely look at cliffs on the left bank of the river and dolomite cliffs on the right bank. Along the river are fields of vegetables, including pumpkins, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, beets, potatoes and herbs, along with a fruit and berry garden. The lady of the house will offer products for sale, as well as an informative tour of the fields. |

Aromatic coffee is produced here from chicory and on the basis of ancient recipes from grandma Alīda. All of the ingredients come from surrounding fields and forests. The “Mīlmaņi” guesthouse is on the banks of the Gauja River in Ranka. The venue is cosy for family celebrations and events for up to 50 participants. The main building has five bedrooms. A summer home is available for as many as 30 people, with a sauna, a black Sauna and, on the banks of the Gauja, a jacuzzi, as well as picnicking locations with grills. The flats of Saules Kvartāls (Block of Sun) are found in the city centre and at a 15-minute walk from the Ventspils Olympics Centre and the skateboard park, 10 minutes from the Reņķa garden, 15 minutes from a children’s playground and other tourist destinations. The nearest store is just 100 metres away. There are three types of rooms at Saules Kvartāls – a studio flat for a family, a small room for two, and a two-room studio type flat. All of the apartments have a television set and WIFI, as well as a small kitchen where you can boil water in a kettle. There is also a stove along with kitchen equipment and utensils. All guests have a common use grill with the necessary equipment to use free of charge. There are also garden furnishings, a trampoline for the kids, and a sauna. |

It is possible to see Latvian dark-headed sheep, learn about the specifics of their breeding, lifestyle and sheepmen branch in Latvia. In addition to the sheep, it is possible to see different birds – turkeys, gees, ducks, chicken and pearl chicken. On the farm there is also situated the Star Space observatory where during the ~ two-hour-long visit you will hear simply presented stories about stars, planets and other topics.After the lecture, outside, in fresh air you will be able to put the acquired knowledge to use, by trying to spot some constellations – how to find them, how they look like, etc. After you learn about constellations, you can observe them in the observatory’s powerful telescope which is open to public use. |

This is a place for leisure in Mazirbe along the Livonian shore. It is part of the Slītere National Park, and the venue welcomes solo travellers, families and groups of friends. There are six buildings which can accommodate up to 50 people – rooms for one, two or three visitors, as well as one room for 12 visitors. A new service building has a lavatory, shower and kitchen. Sauna services are available. Strautmaļi also has a banquet hall with a fireplace, an amazing collection of teaspoons, a library of books for all tastes, as well as beautiful paintings. Brantu manor is located in Smiltene county, Brantu parish. The manor was built in the 19th century, currently it is managed by Ilze Briede, who is a well-known bread baker in Latvia, and Nauris Zutis - the owner of "Pirts skola" ("Sauna school"). |
