The true country ice cream at Dviete is provided by a family company which makes ice cream from locally sourced milk and barriers. There are no E-substances, no plant oils, and less sugar than is common. The cows which provide the milk are not kept in sheds. They graze in the biological pastures of the Dviete wetlands. They are known as “happy cows,” and the milk ensures a unique taste for the ice cream that is made of it. The café offers homemade ice cream and waffles, as well as delicious coffee in a lovely and well-appointed place from which you can see the lovely and extensive Dviete wetlands. Groups can contact the ice cream café to arrange for tastings or master classes on how ice cream is made. |

The countryside house offers a comfortable and cozy environment for relaxation close to nature. The house features a spacious bedroom with a large king-size bed and a pull-out chair, providing a comfortable stay for guests. There is both a shower and a bathtub available, as well as a large kitchen equipped with everything necessary for cooking. The bedroom has a fireplace that creates a particularly cozy atmosphere on cooler evenings. The outdoor area includes several terraces where guests can grill or set up a table for a meal in the fresh air. Approximately 100 meters away is a two-story sauna house. The ground floor includes a sauna, a small kitchenette with a sink, and a washing area with a shower and toilet. The second floor offers sleeping accommodations for six people and a TV for relaxation. Near the sauna house, there is a pond where guests can swim. |

Tourists can learn about the history of the estate and the brewing of beer, beginning with raw materials and ending with finished products. The visit is enriched by tastings of live beer and stories about Latvia’s traditional holiday beverage. Alongside the brewery is a store which sells live beer, homemade goodies and selected souvenirs. The “Valmiermuižas alus virtuve” saloon popularises Latvian beers and uses beer in various dishes. A modern approach to homemade products is used to prepare foods and beer-based snacks. There is a beer garden during the summer, and the saloon merges traditional things with modern ones. A collection of peonies in the garden in Ķesterciems which is just 300 metres from the sea. The collection has been put together over the course of many years, with some that were first grafted in the 18th century and others that are completely new varieties. Each year the range is supplemented, with a bit more than 800 different kinds right now. Peony blossoms are at their peak attractiveness around mid-June. |

On the west coast of the Gulf of Riga, in the Lapmezciems municipality, there is a family-owned company "Reinis-B" specializing in the production of hot smoked fish products. Reinis-B specializes in the production of smoked fish products, using only natural alder wood during the smoking process. Offering both local and overseas fish, prepared after a variety of smoked recipes and traditions. You can buy Reinis-B products in several places in Latvia: Ragaciema Fish Market, various fairs and exhibitions. In cooperation with the market of Mara, depending on the date, products can be bought in Salaspils, Bauska, Dobele, Jelgava, Kauguri and Riga's "Rimi" squares. The farm is located in the north-west of Latvia, which was historically inhabited by Livonians and, nowadays, is often called the Livonian coast. Farm is one of the first homes in Kolka, 1.2 km from Kolkasrags, the furthest northern point of Courland separating the Baltic Sea from the Gulf of Riga. The owner of the farm demonstrates the way in which the traditional Northern Kurzeme dessert that is a carrot bun and is known as a "sklandrausis" is prepared. Sklandrausis is registered in the EU food quality scheme as a product with traditional speciality guaranteed. Hikers can take a tour to see the industrial history of Kolka, complete with theatrical elements and tasting of Latvia’s best sprats. Opened on June 21, 2011, at the 51st kilometre of the Tallinn-Riga highway, the MEKE KROGS pub is a typical example of the roadside pubs which used to be built along the sides of roads and near homesteads, castles, mills and windmills. This particular one is located into renovated cattle shed that is more than 100 years old – a lovely log building that is named after the former baron of the local estate, von Mecke. Alongside it is the handsome parish building which was erected in 1907 with red bricks from Tūja. Latvian cuisine: Sorrel stew with grits, cold soup, pounded beef, mutton and vegetable stew, grits with smoked meat and mushrooms, herring with cottage cheese, bread soup. This is a place for leisure in Mazirbe along the Livonian shore. It is part of the Slītere National Park, and the venue welcomes solo travellers, families and groups of friends. There are six buildings which can accommodate up to 50 people – rooms for one, two or three visitors, as well as one room for 12 visitors. A new service building has a lavatory, shower and kitchen. Sauna services are available. Strautmaļi also has a banquet hall with a fireplace, an amazing collection of teaspoons, a library of books for all tastes, as well as beautiful paintings. The centre of Mazirbe is 3 km away, the sea is 2 km away. Silence, a pine forest, mushrooms, cranes. The venue is open from May 20 until September 3. The price is EUR 40 per night for two people. |
