This is a unique open-air museum in South Estonia with displays on farming and school life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its 5 ha grounds comprise a school, a court and a poorhouse with outbuildings, a communal granary, dwelling houses, and a Dutch windmill. Farm tools and machinery are also displayed.

This swampy territory used to be part of a Littorena Sea lagoon, and it is a place where many rare and protected birds such as woodpeckers live and nest. Territory is hard to reach although some of the territory can be surveyed from the Tukums-Kolka road. Wet meadows is called "lankas" in Kurzeme region.

Muižas ēka tikusi restaurēta, taču tā celta 1732. gadā. Muižas kompleksu veido – kungu māja, bijušās skolas ēka, pārvaldnieka māja, klēts, saimniecības ēka, kā arī tējas namiņš, kas atrodas senajā ozolu parkā, no kura takas tālāk aizvijas uz Meža parku. Ungurmuižas  iekštelpās ir grezni zīmējumi (grenadieri, ziedu motīvi, zīmētas tapetes, drapēri, ainas no barona karagājieniem un ceļojumiem) kuru autors ir Limbažu gleznotājs Georgs Dītrihs Hinšs. Ungurmuižā par seno auru rūpējas katrs gleznojums, zīmējums un katrs nostūris.

This collection contains bicycles from five different armies and five different eras in the history of Latvia. They include a World War I bicycle from the Russian Empire, a bicycle from the Latvian army, two World War II German bicycles, and a Monark-brand military bicycle from Sweden that was donated to the renewed Latvian army in the 1990s. The exhibition also features items that are related to the use of military bicycles – seals, awards, and information about the bicycle units of Latvia’s Home Guard. This is the only bicycle museum in Latvia, and its exhibits are unique, as well.

This route includes some of the most authentic experiences that can be found in the regions of blue lakes in eastern Latvia and Lithuania.  No masses of tourists are here, and local residents are sincere and hospitable.  You will find traditional villages, many religious objects and farms that represent agricultural heritage.  You will ride through the Rāzna National Park, which is alongside the lovely Lake Rāzna.  You will visit traditional farms and ancient castles, as well as the Aglona Basilica, which has been a destination for pilgrims for many years.  There is also a bread museum in Aglona.  From there you will ride through Daugavpils, which has an impressive 19th century fortress that includes the Mark Rothko Art Centre.  Along the way you will find potteries where traditional ceramics are offered.  You will learn more about breeding horses and cows, as well as about how traditional cheeses are made and herbal teas are prepared.  Next you will ride through the Aukštaitija National Park that is on the border between Latvia and Lithuania.  You will see ethnographic villages with wooden castles, as well as many lakes.  It is worth visiting the Stripikiai Beekeeping Museum, the local open-air art museum, as well as the European Centre.  To be sure, you will enjoy local Lettigalian beer, as well as zeppelins, which are a traditional dish in Lithuania.

This park dates back to the mid-18th century and is to the south of Lake Stelmuže.  There are winding trails on all sides of the hillock that lead to the Christ the King Church, with linden, maple, oak, birch, fir, elm and pine trees.  At the foot of the hillock is the Laime stream, and visitors are welcome to stroll along the alley of oak trees.  The oldest and fattest oak tree in Lithuania is one of the oldest ones in Europe.  It is though that it is 1,500 to 2,000 ears old, and its record-setting diameter is 3.5 metres (eight or nine people linking hands are needed to encircle it).  The tree is 23 m high.

Covered with rocks and with small capes and inlets, this is the eastern shore of the Bay of Rīga and the only place in Latvia where sandstone outcrops are found. These are the result of the abrasive effects of waves between Tūja and Vitrupe. Among the most distinguished of these outcrops are the Veczemi cliffs, which are less than half a kilometre long and up to four metres high. The area has been improved for tourists. It has to be said that this part of the shoreline changes very often, particularly after large storms.

Preiļu Siers is the largest cheese manufacturer in Latvia and exports 90% of its output.  There are three “Preilis” stores in the town (Daugavpils Street 66A, Tirgus laukums 5, Rēzeknes iela 15) where are the widest range of Preiļu Siers products. Three kind of tastings of cheese "Čedars" produced in Preiļi, as well as "Čedars" cheese ice cream and a movie about the company are offered by local home producers "Pampūkas" beach terrace cafe, located in the active part of the city - beach area of Preiļi Park  (pre-registration by phone 25867735, runs from the second Sunday of May till the second Sunday of September). In Preiļi , next to A/S "Preiļu siers" factory (Daugavpils iela 75) is one of few monuments to cheese in the world – the only one of its kind in Latvia.  There are only four monuments for cheese in the world, two of them located in France, and one in each - Canada and USA. Therefore Preili can safely be called the cheese capital of Latvia.

"Valgums" is a word referring to the sandy coastline zone between dunes and water, and once there were boats and nets that were being dried at this location.  Each village had several areas of this type, and in the 1920s and 1930s, these were of great importance in the preservation of the Liv language.

Ķurmrags is one of the most distinct capes along the Vidzeme shore of the Bay of Rīga.  Around it, waves and ice have put together a large amount of fieldstones, and the steep shores are made of sandstone.  There are the ruins of an old lighthouse here, with the building collapsing toward the sea.  It was still standing around 15 years ago.
