Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all prepared on an open fire, making use of an ancient spirit and the cookbooks of grannies. Desserts, too, are all made from natural ingredients. The “Cope” caféThe watermill was restored in the 1920s and renewed operations in 1992. It offers a look at historical mechanisms and the milling process, while the café offers pancakes made of the flour that is ground at the mill. Latvian cuisine: Herring with cottage cheese and boiled potatoes, pancakes with mushrooms, cheese, vegetables, meat, honey, cream, cottage cheese, ice cream and caramel. |

The “Mazais Ansis” saloonThe saloon is on the edge of the Murjāņi-Valka road (A3) in a two-story log building with a terrace. The interior design of Mazais Ansis fits the aura of a massive wooden structure and it is possible to look at old times’ instruments, household goods and harnesses. There is also a very valuable wooden wheel, which is one of the very few in Latvia. The saloon offers a sauna, a location for campfires and a children’s playground. It works with local farmers and manufacturers. Latvian cuisine: Valmiera salad, boiled tongue, grey peas, farmer’s breakfast, cold soup, filet of pike, roast lamb, grilled pork, stacked rye bread, strawberry crème with jam, rye bread, herbal teas.
