The Neļķes cliffs are in Skaņākalns Park, and they offer the most beautiful view of the Salaka River valley, with its sandstone cliffs and peaceful river. There are good views from the “devil’s pulpit.” It’s worth visiting the Skaņamkalns Hill to check out the views from the famous echo cliff. This is part of the ZBR.

Dieser extra heimlicher Bunker mit einem Deckname "Altersheim" war einer von den strategisch wichtigsten Orten im Falle des Atomkrieges im Sowjetstaat Lettland. Im Territorium vom Rehabilitierungszentrum "Līgatne" 9m unter die Erde ist ein gut eingereichteter Bunker gelegen. Im Falle des Krieges könnten wichtigsten Militär- und Zivilpersonen aus diesem Bunker aus die Staatsleitung fortsetzen und damit das Bestehen der Republik in der Zeit des Krieges gewährleisten. Bis zum Jahr 2003. wurde der Bunker geheim gehalten. Die sämtliche authentische unterirdische Ausrüstung ist bis heute erhalten geblieben. Die Besucher können den Bunker in Begleitung eines gebildeten Reiseführers besichtigen, als auch eine typisch sowjetische Mahlzeit einnehmen. Ein Objekt dieser Art in so gutem Zustand ist das Einzige in baltischen Staaten, möglicherweise – auch das Einzige in der ehemaligen Sowjetunion.

До восьмидесятых годов 17 столетия в тогдашнем Вецдаугавском микрорайоне, в местечке Сканстниеки стоял Даугавгривский замок, который, из-за естественного изменения русла Даугавы (когда-то Даугава протекала по руслу тогдашней Вецдаугавы), снесли и «перенесли» на левый берег Даугавы. От самого замка ничего не сохранилось, зато еще сегодня видны валы и остатки защитных рвов, которые использовались солдатами шведской армии как место стоянки в начале Северной войны. В любом случае это место, расположенное в северной части города, является интересным объектом исторического и военного наследия Риги, который стоит осмотреть.

Along with the Nagļu ponds, these are Latvia’s largest fishing ponds. They were established on the flood-land peat areas of Lake Lubāns in the 1970s, when the hydrotechnical system of the lake was first established. The Lubāna-Gaigalava road bisects the Kvāpāni-Īdeņa ponds. There are three bird-watching towers on the dams of the ponds. The ponds are a major location for water bird nests, as well as places for migrating birds to rest. There are extensive bird-watching opportunities in the area.

To sešus gadus vēlāk nodedzināja lietuviešu karaspēks. Pili gan atjaunoja Kurzemes hercoga Ketlera valdīšanas laikā, taču Ziemeļu kara laikā - 1701. g. to atkal noposta zviedru karapulki. Līdz mūsdienām ir saglabājusies tikai no laukakmeņiem celtās pils sienas atliekas.

„Zaļmuiža” (Green Manor) is notable because of its legendary past. The protector of peasants and poet Peter Miglinīks (1850 – 1883) worked there as a clerk in the beginning of the 19th century. In 1784, the building belonged to Frederick von Korf. The manor was bought by officer of Russian army Nikolaj Paulin von Rosenschild. Once the manor had a large farm (800 ha): several cattle-sheds, fruit and wine cellars, alcohol brewery. Now there in only a manor house and a barn. Till 1960s, the manor house was the centre of kolkhoz „Liesma”, later the club. Now there is a smithy of a craftsman Jānis Ļubka. Guests are welcome to watch and try the metal processing.
