The “Zvejnieki” holiday houseThe house is on the eastern shore of Lake Lubāns with a wonderful view of Latvia’s largest lake. The owners prepare dishes from local freshwater fish, using old recipes and ones that they have developed themselves. "Zvejnieki" is the participant of Latgalian culinary heritage. Latvian cuisine: Porridge with homemade jam, fish soup, bream or pike cakes, smoked carp, sautéed wild duck, sautéed elk, wild berries with milk. The “Plostkrogs” saloonThis saloon is in a lovely place – the ancient Abava River valley between Kandava and Sabile. It is housed in an historical building with among the largest chimneys in the Baltic States. A camp for water tourists is alongside the saloon. Latvian cuisine: Chilled beet soup, dumpling soup, sorrel soup, sauerkraut soup, chicken livers, homemade steak haché, dried pork ribs, roast pork, grilled pork, potato pancakes with cream, crepes, herbal teas.
