February comes with the best travel deals at Balttour 2014!

The 21st International Travel Trade Fair Balttour 2014, 7–9 February at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre, invites to try the new season’s best and most attractive travel deals in Latvia, the Baltics and around the world!


In two halls "Travel Latvia!" and "Discover the World!", "Balttour 2014" will offer more than 450 exhibition stands where about 700 tourism businesses from Latvia, Italy, Israel, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, Tunisia, Hungary, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Ghana and other countries as colourful as those mentioned will present their newest and hottest offers.

The fair brings together travel agencies, operators, hotels, transport companies and other tourism-related businesses from more than 38 countries presented both in national collective and individual stands; the attendance number in three days expected is about 30,000 visitors.

"It is very gratifying that “Balttour” is the most important tourism event in the Baltics! We are very excited about its steady growth and contents quality development. The travel market concept incepted three years ago proved a success and now "Balttour" is an expected and crucial travel industry event for both visitors and participants," the president of the Association of Latvian Travel Agents and Tour Operators (ALTA) Kitija Gitendorfa tells.

Discover the World!
The hall "Discover the World!" is going to surprise with the rich and unprecedented offer of outbound travel deals at very attractive prices. Participants offer both traditional destinations and new, unprecedented routes.

"Balttour" for the first time has participants from such great seafaring nations as Portugal and Great Britain. After a several year break, the travel industry professionals from the sunny Georgia invite travellers to enjoy sunny beaches on the Black Sea coast.

Allurements of neighbouring countries
This year fair brings together a great number of participants from neighbouring countries – Estonia and Lithuania, all in all, more than 40 tourism businesses. Estonian tourism representatives invite to enjoy driving on icy roads, meet real bears and lynxes, explore medieval castles, while their Lithuanian counterparts offer tours to the Curonian Spit, Sea Museum and Dolphinarium.

Exotics in the sun
The mountains and the Sahara enclosed Tunisia invites visitors to enjoy Africa’s warmth and culture; Spain, the land of flamenco, entices travellers with the sunny Mediterranean coast but the UAE with 358 sunny days a year, camel races and shopping tours in the city of mighty skyscrapers – Dubai.

Top transport companies are going to introduce you to a wide variety of travel options and offer you to choose the most comfortable way of travelling – by air, bus, ferry, or even a cruise ship! Latvian travel agencies offer services of nearly all of the world's largest cruise companies!
For convenience of the "Balttour 2014" visitors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia in a special stand informs about the safety while travelling abroad.

Attractions of Latvia’s regions
"Discover Latvia anew!" is the new welcoming motto of the "Travel Latvia!" hall where all four Latvia’s counties and Riga will be widely represented bringing to the highlight the unique feel so typical for us and so attractive for tourists. Each county will present tourism and leisure activities, traditions, events, and will sell regional specialties and crafted items.

Kurzeme presents its natural, historical and cultural treasures, invites to the surfers’ paradise in Pavilosta, coastal bluffs and nature reserves, treats with local wine makers, fishermen and bakers produce. Vidzeme offers complex tourism products and itineraries this year. Latgale surprises with the opportunities of gastronomic tourism. Zemgale has a special surprise kept as a great secret for the time-being.

Come, win and travel!
Visitors will have an opportunity to try their luck at the Balttour Lottery and win travel-related prizes such as a two-week trip to Bali or an unforgettable cruise in the Mediterranean Sea.

Great atmosphere
The Balttour Stage will offer a three-day concert programme – from ancient Egyptian national dance Tanura up to granny aerobics. Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum will show the funniest Latvian traditions. On 7 February, The Name in Tourism 2013 Award Ceremony will be held there. Balttour Business Forum
The Balttour Forum to be held from 6–8 February 2014 is an opening event of the travel trade fair for the third year in a row. The Forum will bring together more than 350 tourism professionals from more than 15 European and Central Asian countries. More information: www.balttour.lv/forum
