The key treasure in this park is that it has a lake that is one of the most intensive sites for birdwatchers in all of Latvia. It also features outstanding flora and the shallow waters of the Bay of Rīga. Recommended: Hike along the seashore from Mērsrags to Engure (20 km). See wild domestic animals (horses and cows) on the eastern shore of Lake Engure. There’s a bird-watching tower on the NW shore of the lake (approach from Kūļciems, where you can see domestic animals adapted to life in the wild, including the Blue Cows of Latvia). A bird-watching tower can be found at a place called Jomiņa near Mērsrags, where the seashore meadow is an uncommon biotope

This collection features the heritage of the Suiti people, including an exhibition of folk costumes. Visitors can learn about the costumes and try them on. This is a cosy place for meetings, with well-equipped rooms for seminars and various types of training sessions. |

Located at the Rūjiena High School, this Kārlis Zemdega sculpture was installed in 1936 in honour of a local teacher, Jūlija Skuiņa, who drowned in 1936 at the age of 24. There are various legends about her death, one of which talks about a tragic love story involving the Rev Roberts Slokenbergs. |

Here there's a lot to do inside and outside, for example, inside is bowling alley, swimming pool, gym and outside - outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court, there's a possibility to fish too. Находится~ в 4 км, не доезжая до Априки (установлен указатель) – Гибортское кладбище. Слепой Индрикис (1783 – 1828) был латышом, опубликовавшим первое собрание стихов на латышском языке (1806 г.). Индрикис был слепым с 5-летнего возраста и был необразован. Его стихи записал и издал в упомянутом году священник Априкского прихода K. Г. Элверфелдс. На кладбище установлен памятный камень (1935 г.) и созданное Вилнисом Титансом «Аустрас кокс» с надписью шрифтом Брайля. |

In Soviet times, all lighthouses were military objects. Today the lighthouse at Pape is managed by the Latvian Maritime Administration, and it can only be viewed from the outside.

This lime swamp of grasses is in an area among dunes which floods from time to time, and it is an important location for many protected plants. The swamp is easily surveyed from the forested dunes which are on the south-eastern side of the swamp. |

This partly forested hillock stands 40 metres above the surrounding area and offers impressive views. The fact that this was once a castle hill is attested by the presence of a moat and remnants of defensive fortifications. It is thought that Lettigalian tribes settled here in the 10th century AD. You can climb the hillock to take a look at the surrounding landscapes. |

The saloon is on the edge of the Murjāņi-Valka road (A3) in a two-story log building with a terrace. The interior design of Mazais Ansis fits the aura of a massive wooden structure and it is possible to look at old times’ instruments, household goods and harnesses. There is also a very valuable wooden wheel, which is one of the very few in Latvia. The saloon offers a sauna, a location for campfires and a children’s playground. It works with local farmers and manufacturers. The road leading to this estate is reminiscent of a narrow mountain road with a deep river valley alongside it. The estate used to be known as the Libe Estate, and the buildings that are seen there now belonged to a nobleman, Magnuss. The mansion has a Neo-Gothic glass tower which is known as an architectural curio among specialists. The Sarkaņi Parish Council sits in the mansion. The granary is the work of a local enthusiast, Andris Trečaks, who has collected a series of ancient objects. Outside the granary is a very broad view of the “lower” Lubāna flatlands, resembling a painting with an empty frame. |

In Soviet years, Ventspils was the site of tank training. The facility has been degraded, and only the former tank repair facility and some outbuildings are still being used. The rest of the territory is not used or guarded any more.
