The National Selection Station at Stende was established in 1922 and is in the Lībaga Parish of the Talsi District – the Dižstende farm. The station conducts scientific work related to grain selection, cattle farming and other conventional and biological types of farming. Visitors can taste grain products that are produced at the facility.

The Ungurmuiža park is well known for its outstanding and huge oak trees. Some of them are rotting or dead, and they are home to a great many species, including many that are found nowhere else in Europe. A pathway leads through these noble trees – 1.3km in length, with visitors spending as much as an hour there. The park also contains the only wooden castle from the early 18th century that has been preserved to the present day. There are other cultural and historical treasures, as well.

This restricted area protects the highest hillock in the Alūksne highlands – Dēliņkalns Hill – as well as the biotopes on its hillsides. The local landscape is also protected. Downhill ski trails are on the mountain, and its southern side offers lovely views.

Ventspils is one of the most affluent towns with excellent infrastructure, well- restored Livonian Order Castle, promenade, arty fountains, manicured parks. Whole town is family oriented but kids particularly enjoy the Blue Flag beach with different swings, climbing and sliding options as well as Kids Town with activity zones for different age groups. A short trip by the narrow-gauge steam engine is a special attraction for kids as well as adults. Water pleasures can be fully enjoyed at indoor or outdoor aqua parks. Go for self-drive excursions in vicinity featuring scenic sea coast, traditional fishing villages where smoked fish can be bought from fishermen, Slitere National Park with beautiful view from its lighthouse, charming Kuldiga with its wooden architecture and waterfall. On the way back to Riga, adults might enjoy stop at the home winery to taste excellent wines made from everything else but grapes. The five-story hotel with a tower at its centre was built in the style of Neo-Classicism between 1933 and 1936, and it is known as the "White House" or "White Ship." The building is seen as one of the most outstanding structures of the first period of Latvian independence, and it was one of the symbols of the independent state. The building has survived, as have some of the interior design elements and artworks of the vestibule, music salon, library and dining hall. The Ķemeri Hotel is also known for having served as a set for the Aigars Grauba film "Terrible Summer." In 1998, the sanatorium was privatised by the Ominasis Italia S.R.L. company. Restoration has continued for more than a decade, and the building can only be viewed from the outside. There is a garden on its western side. |

Pie Drustu baznīcas atrodas 1932. g. atklātais un formās iespaidīgais (E. Kuraua firmas veidots) granīta piemineklis 1. pasaules karā un Latvijas Brīvības cīņās kritušo piemiņai. Nelielā baznīcas sienas nišā novietota piemiņas plāksne komunisma terora upuriem. |

The restricted area protects the seashore meadows of the Lielupe River estuary, which are a very uncommon habitat in Latvia. The restricted area is on the left bank of the river, where one of the largest areas of wild swamp angelica is found. This is an important nesting area for birds. The territory is not improved for tourism, and it should be viewed from the Baltā (White) dune that is on the opposite bank of the Lielupe River. From there, the visitor will see a lovely landscape featuring the river estuary and the meadows which are around it.
