The Gauja is the most beautiful river in Latvia, with an impressive river valley that is up to 80 metres in depth. Picturesque sandstone outcrops rise above the river. The Gauja is a calm river, with just a few small rapids. Leisure boating is perfect here. Between Cesis and Sigulda, the Gauja flows through the Gauja National Park . During this tour you experience the different ways of using milk either for edible products or body treatments. From Riga, through historic sea and spa resort Jurmala, the route goes to goats farms where you taste cheeses as well as exclusive ice-cream from goats milk. Then visit Dundaga Castle and try local diary products there. At Roja experience local traditions having fishermen meal and attractions Then the route goes along unspoiled seaside beaches of Cape Kolka to well maintained town of Ventspils from where it turns inland to the picturesque Kuldiga with well preserved wooden architecture. Further on enjoy beautiful Milk Manor where you could experience lavish spa treatments based on milk. There is also Milk Museum located where you can follow the milk route from a cow to the tables, also possible to try some old fashioned practical jobs like butter making. Next - sightseeing at Jelgava which used to be the main seat of the Duke of Courland. The eastern, southern and western shores of Lake Rāzna have roads which offer many lovely and unusual views of Latvia’s second largest lake and its surrounding landscape. Particularly lovely is the road between Foļvarkova and Vilkakrogs, which is part of the Rēzekne-Ezernieki road.

The restored mansion of the Dunte Estate is now a museum featuring the adventures and life of the legendary king of lies, Baron Munchhausen. The first floor is devoted to the barn and his stories, while the second floor has a collection of wax models of people who are distinguished in terms of Latvia’s history. Also there is the largest collection of beer mugs in Latvia. There are three circular trails in the forest with wooden sculptures. The longest one leads to the sea. A wooden model of a ship is interesting to children. |

The Bebrene Catholic Church is opposite the Bebrene Estate on the side of the Ilūkste-Birži road. Work on the church began in 1797, but it was only completed in 1883. The outside of the church is in the style of Classicism, while the interior was designed in Baroque forms. The interior of the church can be viewed during worship services. |

Near the Lielauce manor house start of a wooden pathway which crosses the transition-type swamp that is on the shore of Lake Lielauce to a boating facility near the open part of the lake.
