This battery is easiest to find if you walk on the beach, because one of its four positions is right there, rinsed by the waves of the sea. Other positions, including a telescope tower, are in the pine forest not far from the coast. The battery was installed in the 1940s, and you can see the Northern Forts from here.

Viewing tower on pontoons, and there is a footpath to get to it. The tower offers a view of nearly all of Lake Sloka, all the way to Kauguri. Particularly visible is the northern part of the lake. There is also a sulphur spring. The site is good for bird-watching throughout the year, including the winter, because parts of the lake do not freeze over.

Der Herbst ist die Migrationszeit der Vögel, wenn über Ihre Köpfe sehr oft große Vogelzüge den Himmel kreuzen. Auf den Feldern zeigen Kraniche eindrucksvolle Aufführungen. Man kann noch einige Libellen und Schmetterlinge, sowie Wildschweine, Hirsche und Biber sehen. Die Landschaft zieht ihre wunderschönen herbstlichen Farben an, aber die Menschen freuen sich über die Herbsternte in den Wäldern: Pilze, Moosbeeren, Preiselbeeren und vieles mehr.
Von Riga führt die Tour die Küste der Region Vidzeme entlang, der vom Sandstein aus der Devonperiode gebildete Gebiete, Küstenwiesen und unzählige Orte zur Beobachtung von Stelzvögeln charakteristisch sind. In Salacgriva besichtigen Sie die traditionellen Neunaugen-Fischzäune und haben die Möglichkeit, gegrillte Neunaugen zu probieren. Danach führt die Tour in das Moor von Seda, das ein bedeutender Nistort für Wasservögel ist. Hier kann man einige Arten von Gänsen, Schwänen und Kranichen, sowie einige Säugetiere und Libellen beobachten. Danach fahren Sie in die Nadelwälder von Mezole, die eine großartige biologische Vielfalt bewahren. Danach wird die Aufmerksamkeit den Pilzen und Beeren in dem Nationalpark Gauja geschenkt, der auch wunderschöne Aussichten auf das Urstromtal des Flusses Gauja bietet, dem steile Ufer aus der Devonperiode, mittelalterliche Burgen und Landgüter charakteristisch sind. Dann führt die Tour nach Riga zurück und zu zwei wichtigen Nationalparks. In einem feuchten Wald des Nationalparks Kemeri befindet sich der Schwarzerlenpfad, der ideal für die Beobachtung von Spechten ist, aber auf dem großen Pfad im Moor von Kemeri kann man die Landschaft von Hochmooren, Übergangsmooren und Schwefelquellen besichtigen. In dem Nationalpark Slitere können Sie einen Tag in der Wildnis erleben, indem Sie einen Biberbau besichtigen und auf den Spuren von verschiedenen Wildtieren gehen, die Sie vielleicht auch zu Gesicht bekommen können. Das Kap von Kolka bietet eine ideale Möglichkeit, die Migration an der Küste zu beobachten. Weiter führt die Tour entlang der Steilküste von Jurkalne bis zur Stadt Ventspils, wo das Mittagessen und ein Spaziergang auf der Mole eingeplant ist. Danach geht die Tour Richtung Riga. Unterwegs werden noch das Urstromtal des Flusses Abava und der Weinberg von Sabile besucht.

This is on the north-western shore of Lake Lielezers of Limbaži, at the start of the Lielezers nature trail. The tower opens up a view of the lake and its lovely shores. It is worth walking the trail, which is several kilometres long, because it is an interesting one. This is part of the ZBR.

Hier gibt es mehrere Seen – die Seen Pilskalns, Dzērve, Ieva, Raipals usw. Es existieren bedeutsame Biotope – Hang- und Schluchtenwälder, verschiedene Arten von Mooren und Wiesen, Feuchtwälder usw. mit all den ihnen eigenen Arten der Flora und Fauna. Tā celta 1905. g. kā Dinaburgas garnizona baznīca ar daudziem nozīmīgiem mākslas pieminekļiem interjerā, t.sk. 19. gs. ikonām. Dievnams ir ikdienā atvērts un apskatāms no iekšpuses.

The first building of the church was built in 1641. The fourth building of the church was only built in 1856 – during the times of Pastor Johann Wilhelm Knierim. Its altar painting – The Crucified Christ (Golgotha) was painted in 1856 by Jozeps Millers, who was influenced by the altar piece in Munich Louis Church created by his teacher Peter Cornelius. An epitaph of Baroness Auguste Amalija von Pistohlkros, the sister of the owner of Bīriņi Manor and the patroness of the church, was immured in the memorial wall. Construction of the tower was completed on 11 June 1856, as evidenced by a memorial plaque on the wall of the church with an inscription “Erbaut von August Pistolkors 1856”. The church was consecrated in 1864. And a year later an organ by Martin Company with 8 registers, which was extended to 14 registers in 1903, was installed in the church. Unfortunately, the organ was destroyed in WW2. Saulkrasti (Pēterupe) Evangelical Lutheran Church survived both World War 2 and the Soviet period. The Soviet era was one of the most difficult times for the church, because many churches in the area were destroyed, pastors were discharged and the congregation fell apart. The Pēterupe congregation remained. As an architectural monument the church was lucky enough to undergo roof repairs of the tower even during Soviet times. Funds were granted by the Chairlady of the Executive Committee Ņina Manzūrova.
