Bārbeles sēravots tiek dēvēts par vienu no pirmajām kūrvietām Latvijā, proti, jau ap 1650. gadu hercoga Jēkaba valdīšanas laikā sēravota tuvumā uzbūvēta vannu māja, dēvēta par mazo ūdensdziednīcu, kuru vēlāk arī apmeklējuši visi Kurzemes-Zemgales hercogi. 1739. gadā Rīgas garnizona ārsts Benjamins Teofils Grofs uz Bārbeles sēravotu nosūtījs 10 ievainotus un smagi slimus karavīrus, kas sirguši ar dažādām kaitēm - pēc Bārbeles sēravota vannām karavīri atveseļojušies.

Avota ūdeni izmantojuši gan apkārtējie zemnieki, gan muižnieki, gan augstmaņi no Jelgavas. Avotā slimnieki peldējušies, aptriepušies ar dūņām, no tā sagatavotas arī siltās vannas. Tāpat ūdens tika izmantots iekšķīgai lietošanai. Bārbeles sēravots dziedinājis ne tikai skorbutu, locītavu un krustu sāpes, artrītu, pietūkumu, bet arī venēriskās slimības-sifilisu, nervu kaites un daudzas citas slimības.

19. gs. avota ūdenī samazinājās sērūdeņraža koncentrācija. Neskatoties uz to, 20. gs. 20. gados šeit vēl aizvien darbojās vannu māja, tika uzbūvēts arī neliels vasarnīcu rajons, ierīkots deju laukums un parks, kūrorts tolaik tika plaši apmeklēts. Diemžēl, kūrorta noriets seko pēc Otrā Pasaules kara, kad to noposta un vairs neatjauno.

Dobele name in historical sources for the first time is mentioned in1254. Dobele was one of the most fortified Semigallian places; therefore from 1279 until 1289 it survived six attacks by German crusaders. In 1289 Semigallians was forced to retreat. In 1335 conquerors instead of Semigallian castle began construction of new - stone castle. On the opposite shore of Berze - on the left bank merchants and craftsmen village began to form. Town suffered greatly during the Northern War and during the subsequent plague. A significant event in the economic life was the 1927, when Liepaja-Gludas railway line was built. After World War II in Dobele and its vicinity came to the Soviet militaries, who built one of the largest Soviet tanks range "Dobele-2". Now Dobele travellers are offered a range of interesting sites to be visited.

Between Saunags and Vaide on the road to Kolka, you will see an area on the left (South) side of the road where there was a massive forest fire in 1992 which burned approximately 3,300 hectares of forest.  Biologists use the area to study the regeneration of the forest.  There were extensive and destructive fires here during the early 20th century, as well.  Swedish scientists say that there have been at least 15 fires in the forests of Šlītere over the last several centuries.  The burned area is in a nature reserve and can only be viewed from the road.

The old Kolkasrags lighthouse is just a set of ruins right now. The lighthouse at the tip of the horn was built in the 16th century and renovated several times. The ruins are slowly decaying because of storms and ice during the winter. They had been standing well away from the shoreline once, but now are slowly disappearing under water.

This is on the north-western shore of Lake Lielezers of Limbaži, at the start of the Lielezers nature trail. The tower opens up a view of the lake and its lovely shores. It is worth walking the trail, which is several kilometres long, because it is an interesting one. This is part of the ZBR.

This labyrinth covers 3,300 m2.  Visitors can make their way through the maze, trying to find the exit and handling clever tasks at some of the special twists and turns in the labyrinth.  There is a playground for children, along with a workshop, a mud café and the “fir tree village.”

The castle was built during the first half of the 19th century in Tudor Neo-Gothic forms.  The first owner of the castle was Baron Johann Gottlieb von Wolff.  During the 1870s and 1880s it was rebuilt in the style of French Neo-Renaissance.  The castle was burned down during the 1905 Revolution, but it was restored with certain elements of Art Nouveau forms.  Tours are available of the interior of the building.
