	The Suitu Maize bakery	The owner of the bakery bakes bread on maple leaves in accordance with ancient recipes. She also bakes three-layer carrot buns (rye flour, potatoes and carrots). You can learn about the baking process and then taste and purchase the finished products. The lady of the house demonstrates and teaches traditions related to the baking of bread and carrot buns. While the buns are in the oven, she will talk about the Suiti region and offer a look at Suiti folk costumes.

	Abuls Cidery	Abuls is one of the most experienced cider makers in Latvia. They craft artisanal cider near Smiltene, in Northern Vidzeme. Our Story Cider making began in 2000, with passionate experimentation using local apples each year. Later, inspiration was drawn from visiting cider regions in Normandy, Asturias, Somerset, and the Basque Country. Since 2018, cider has been made in a newly built cider cellar near an orchard, at the very source of the Abuls River. Apples The cider orchard hosts about 400 apple trees - some are special English cider apples, local wild apples, paradise apples, and local late autumn apple varieties. True apple varieties are also sought on expeditions in Latvian nature - in forest edges, ditches, and abandoned gardens. Ciders The ciders are crafted using white wine-making techniques, which help preserve the freshness and local apple aroma as much as possible. All Abuls ciders are handmade. The cider is also fermented using the wild yeasts found on apple skins, which adds a natural sweetness of apple juice. For Visitors The offer includes a tour of the cidery and orchard, a tasting of all available ciders, stories about cider culture, and the cider-making process. Where to Buy The cider is available in bottles and on tap in kegs. Abuls ciders can be purchased in bars, cafes, and stores, as well as in markets and festivals, at the Abuls cider cellar, and online at the e-shop bode.abuls.lv.
	MÄNNIKU Forest farm	Männiku forest farm uses local ingredients, especially from plants. Thanks to the years of experience in the production of plant origin food, the farm is visited by guests from all over the world; only groups are admitted.
6 days	Winter pleasures in Latvia	This itinerary allows you to enjoy the Latvian winter at its best. It starts in the bustling capital of Riga with its Christmas market, decorations, shopping facilities, many cultural events and museums as well as a charming Old Town. Then the route heads out to the countryside to enjoy winter pleasures at skiing and sledging slopes. After an active day its time for relaxation and papmering at a spa hotel plus the chance to experience Latvia's healthy and unique sauna rituals. For sightseeing visit Sigulda medieval castle ruins, Turaida Castle and taste home-made wine at Krimulda manor. Local wild animals such as wolves, bears, mooose and more, can easily can be observed at the Ligatne Nature Trails and afterwards enjoy a ride in a horse-drawn sledge at a nearby farm.
	The Western Shore of the Bay of Riga	This is an area where migrating birds seek shelter and food all around the year. Seen most often here are the red-throated and black-throated loon, the common shelduck, the long-tailed duck, the velvet scoter and the little gull. The territory is also important for the protection of reefs. It lies opposite the Dundaga, Roja and Engure administrative districts, as well as the city of Jūrmala, and it covers 132,173 hectares of territory. The marine parts of the Engure Nature Park and the Ķemeri National Park are covered.
	The Poceri co-operative farm	The large farm is to the South of the centre of Lone, producing apples, pears, plums, cherries, strawberries and black currants. It stores apples during the whole winter. You can help to pick the fruit and berries and purchase them for yourself.
	Moricsalas dabas rezervats	This is Latvia’s oldest nature reserve and, indeed, the country’s oldest protected natural territory. Moricsala is an island in Lake Usma, which is the fifth largest lake in Latvia. The reserve was established in 1912 at the initiative of a group of nature students from Rīga. They wished to protect the deciduous forest of oak trees on the island, along with the local flora and fauna. The nature reserve also includes the Lielalksnīte island. Visits to the reserve, however, are strictly prohibited.
	Vecsiljani farm	The Vecsiljāņi farm is in the Bebri Parish in the Koknese Administrative District. It is a dairy farm and also grows wheat, barley, oats, rye, corn and grasses. In 2010 the farm began to produce hard cheese under the brand name "Ievas siers." Visitors can taste the cheese and tour the farm and the cheese-making facility.
	GORS, The Embassy of Latgale	GORS, The Embassy of Latgale is located in the heart of Latgale region – Rezekne city. It is a place where the story of Latgale is both created and told. Cultural heritage and ancient values, traditions and creation, the language and events, the most significant global trends, art, culture, dance and songs converge here. A centre of culture, concert halls, film theatre, a place of residence for artists, an exhibition space for art, a restaurant for the enjoyment of life, a place for experiments with all the senses.
	Ismeri Old-Believers Prayer House	Ismeri Old-Believers Prayer House was built in 1912 by the donations of local people. The parish of Ismeri exists since 1861.

	The Zilenu ash tree	This is the thickest European Ash (Fraxius excelsior) in Latvia and the Baltic States. The homestead where the tree is found is the memorial museum of the painter Ģederts Eliass, and for that reason, the tree is sometimes also known as the Eliass ash tree.
	Kadiku nora	One of few places in Latvia (around 1 km to the North from Lapmezciems) where used to be beautiful juniper meadows. Since no agriculture activity (grass cutting, cattle grazing) has been implemented in the area, juniper meadows are overgrowing and disappearing. To save the area sustainable management is needed. Slitere National Park with Blue Mountain cliff and Slitere lighthouse is located in short distance from Kadiku nora (Juniper meadow).
	The Barta Museum, featuring traditions from lower Kurzeme	The basic exhibition at the museum, “Traditions Related to the Sewing and Wearing of Bārta Folk Costumes From the 19th to the 21st Century”, features folk costumes for unmarried and married women, as well as for men, emphasising the diversity of elements therein. Visitors can help to embroider or weave blouses. The Bārta Ethnographic Ensemble offers two educational programmes – “The Bārta Folk Costume” and “Singing Women From Bārta”.
	The “Jautrais ods” café	The café is located at the 125th km of the Vidzeme Highway (A2). Latvian cuisine: Cod liver salad, cold soup, dumpling soup, grey peas with bacon, manna, farmer’s breakfast, baked pike filet, crepes, potato pancakes, stacked rye bread, cottage cheese dessert with strawberry sauce.
	The “Piedruja” hotel	The hotel is on the banks of the Daugava River, which is the boundary river between Latvia and Belarus. It offers Lettigalian foods, as well as parties in the Lettigalian, Belarusian and Polish style. Latvian cuisine: Freshwater fish dishes, roast catfish. Special foods: Stuffed and oven-baked pike.
	The Birzu Lutheran Church	The first church was here in the early 18^th century, followed by the second and third one (1847-1848), and then the one that is there now. The church was damaged during World War I and then during the Soviet era, when wool was stored there between 1969 and 1993. In the 1990s, the building was in terrible shape, but it is gradually recovering its appearance. Between 1826 and 1856, the sexton and organist at the church was the Latvian poet and translator Ansis Līventāls (1803-1878). His grave and monument are alongside the church. At the same place are the graves of German and Russian soldiers who died during World War I, as well as the grave monument of the pastor and writer Jacob Florentin Lundberg (1782-1858).
