Guided wilderness experience day-trip combines bog shoeing and canoeing. First is walking through the forest and reaching the largest peat-bog in Estonia – Kuresoo. Wear bogshoes and walk on the wild landscape, followed by wilderness lunch. The trip ends with a relaxing canoe trip along Soomaa meandering rivers. |

The space is on the second floor of the Jūrkalne library, featuring traditional objects from Jūrkalne and the Suiti people, as well as several looms where locals organise creative workshops. Contact the chamber in advance to arrange for a guide who will tell you all about the culture and traditions of the Suiti and present a film about them. |

The craftsman manufactures barrels, hot tubs, furniture, stairs, doors and other useful objects. You can take a tour, learn about the relevant skills and experience, and help in manufacturing something that will be of use in the household. You can watch how barrels are made from start to finish, and also try your own hand at the craftsmanship. |

The saloon is at the edge of the Murjāņi-Limbaži road (P9) and alongside the Igate Castle. It is built on the foundations of a former windmill, and the wheel of the mill has been preserved. The old watermill is still hard at work and is used to mill grain for traditional porridge and buns. The saloon works with local farmers. Latvian cuisine: Mushroom soup, barley porridge with meat, barley buns, grit sausage with lingonberry sauce, crepes with jam, potato pancakes, fried plaice or pike, stacked rye bread. Special foods: Sautéed rabbit, stuffed filet of turkey. |

The centre was opened in 2018 with the aim of facilitating tourism in Alsunga and the historical Suiti territory and to offer information about the district, thus establishing a positive and attractive image for Alsunga and the historical territory in Latvia and abroad. |

The first part of this section of the Forest Trail winds along the magnificent River Piusa valley, then, at Härmä Village, it turns towards Obinitsa, an important cultural centre of Setomaa, the Land of Setos. Here you can discover the traditions of the local Seto people, for example the fine handicraft of the Seto women. After Obinitsa, the Forest Trail leads through beautiful pine forests rich in heather, descends back into the depths of the River Piusa valley and ends at the Piusa caves. The Piusa sandstone caves are the result of hand-mining glass sand from 1922-1966. The biggest wintering colony of bats in Eastern Europe is located in the caves. When accompanied by the guide, you can visit the observation platform at the Museum cave. |

The monument is on a hillock along the lovely shores of Lake Alūksne and alongside Pleskavas Street (P 40). The monument was unveiled on June 20, 1923, by Latvian President Jānis Čakste and was designed by the sculptor Jūlijs Miesnieks. It features a shield with crossed words, and the text reads “For fallen soldiers from the 7th Sigulda regiment, 1919-1920), and on the other side there is a text “Better to take my head than our fatherland.” The monument was torn down during the Soviet occupation (1953) and restored in 2009. |

Liela meža masīva vidū gleznainās Būkas (Būka) upes krastos starp kokiem ieslēpies teiksmainais Vaišnoriškes ciems. Šis ir viens no skaistākajiem nacionālā parka etnogrāfiskajiem ciemiem. Vaišnoriške kā apdzīvota vieta sākusi veidoties 1756. g., kad šeit sena vēsturiska ceļa malā darbojies krogs. Pirmā viensēta ciematā ir zināma no 1830. g. Šodien redzamā apbūve ir tapusi g.k. 20. gs. sākumā. Ciems ir palicis cilvēku atmiņās ar liepu medu, jo meža velšu vākšana un biškopība bija viena no galvenajām šejieniešu nodarbēm. Tagad ciemā ir piecas sētas. No Vaišnoriškes var uzsākt laivu braucienu pa seklo un dzidro Būku. |

This is the largest herd of alpacas (an animal from the mountainous regions of South America) in the Baltic States. You can observe the animals, listen to stories about them, and buy alpaca wool. There are plans to transfer the herd to the Vīceži Estate in the Lībagi Parish in 2014.

Tītuvēnu reģionālais parks (Tytuvėnų regioninis parkas) dibināts 1992. gadā. Parkam raksturīga ainavu daudzveidība – te ir sastopami lieli mežu masīvi, purvi, ezeri, upītes. Šejienes reljefa veidotājs tāpat kā citur Baltijas valstīs ir bijis ledājs, kas atnesis un atstājis aiz sevis garas laukakmeņu grēdas. Kopumā parkā ir konstatētas 603 augu un 787 dzīvnieku sugas. Parkā aug veci un dabiski boreālie (ziemeļu) meži, veci un jaukti platlapju meži ar ozoliem, liepām, kļavām, ošiem un gobām, sugām bagāti egļu meži, staignāju meži, nogāžu un gravu meži, purvaini meži un aluviālie (pārplūstošie) meži. Parkā esošās pļavas un tīrumi ir nozīmīga dzērvju atpūtas vieta migrāciju laikā, kad te pulcējās tūkstošiem putnu. Šiluvas baznīca un Tītuvēnu klosteris ir svētceļnieku galamērķis vairāk nekā 500 gadu garumā. |

One of the most beautiful sections of the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route in Matsalu National Park, which leads through the agricultural lands and coastal meadows located near Matsalu Bay, where thousands of migrating cranes and geese gather in autumn. There are excellent birdwatching sites with towers near Haeska village (coastal meadows, shallow coves, small islets, cattle pastures) and at Cape Puise (coastal meadows with pastures, shoals). The former Maritime School (1894-1914) trained more than 1,000 students.
During Soviet times, a border guard facility was housed here, and the border guard
tower has been preserved. Along the road to the school are forested shoreline
dunes with small buildings which create an interesting coastal landscape. The road
between the Maritime School and the sea was once known as the Captains’ Road.

No vairākiem parka ūdenskritumiem noteikti ir jāapmeklē divi. 1,2 m augstais vienpakāpes Nemmeveski ir izveidojies uz Valgejegi upes (Valgejõgi), vietā kur tā šķērso Ziemeļigaunijas glintu. Šeit Valgejegi atgādina krāčainu (īpaši – pavasaros) kalnu upi, kas plūst pa vairākus metrus augstu klinšu ieskautu kanjonu. Palu laikā šo upes posmu ir iecienījuši ekstrēmie ūdenssporta veidu cienītāji. Pie ūdenskrituma un tālāk pa upi lejup redzamas ap 1920. g. celtās hidroelektrostacijas konstrukciju paliekas. |
