In der Biographie von K. Valdemārs ist ein bekannter Fakt, dass im Sommer 1839 die Lehrer und Schüler der Volksschule von Lubezere einige Tage am Meer verbrachten – in einer 19 Wersten entfernten Siedlung Roja, wo später unter Vermittlung von K. Valdemārs eine Seefahrtschule gebaut wurde. Das erste Treffen mit dem Meer machte einen atemberaubenden Eindruck auf den Jungen. “Ein großartiger Meeresanblick traf den Jungen wie ein Stoß ins Herz, dass er alle drei Tage nichts anderes dachte, als über großartiges Meer, bei dem mit einer kindlichen Echtheit schon damals einen Plan bzw. All that remains today is the governor’s house in which the Latvian author Rūdolfs Blaumanis (1863-1908) lived from 1885 until 1887, and a stable built of fieldstones.  The Central Daugava Forestry Centre of the Latvian State Forests company is located in the building.  The stone gates of the Koknese High School where once the gates of the estate.  The buildings can mostly be viewed from the outside.

Guided wilderness experience day-trip combines bog shoeing and canoeing. First is walking through the forest and reaching the largest peat-bog in Estonia – Kuresoo. Wear bogshoes and walk on the wild landscape, followed by wilderness lunch. The trip ends with a relaxing canoe trip along Soomaa meandering rivers.

Happiness House (Laimes maja) is a recreation place situated in a very beautiful place on the seashore – on Cape Kolka. Here you will have a chance to relax, watch sunrises and sunsets, enjoy the sea, quiteness and peace.
Laimes maja is an ecological building of a cylinder shape, made of fur tree timber with a big oval mirrorlike window. Laimes maja has a characteristic oval shape which gives the house originality of a beautiful design. One end of the house is made of a big half-oval window from which one can see a beatufil landscape. The bed in the house is situated right near the window in order to give visitors unforgettable romantic experiences by feeling united with the landscape and nature outside.

Rīgas - Daugavpils šosejas (A 6) 157. kilometrā skats jāpavērš Daugavas (rietumu) virzienā, kur cauri koku alejai klajā laukā 50 m attālumā no ceļa iegūlis Vaiķu akmens (7 m garš, 4,7 m plats un 1,7 m augsts). Akmens, kura tilpumu vērtē ~ 45 m³, pēc formas atgādina plakanu galdu. Nostāsti vēsta, ka to šeit atnesis velns. The craftswoman uses clay, rocks and other materials to produce dishware and various interior design objects, finishing them in an open kiln. This territory protects a lime outcrop found on the shores of the lower reaches of the Zaņa River. There is a path for active hikers which begins at the Zaņa mill (1864, rebuilt 1890, shut down 1960). The path weaves its way along the steep shores of the little river, heading toward its mouth.

Jurmala town (the second largest in Latvia) was founded in 1959, by combining Kemeri and Sloka towns in the Riga city Jurmala district. It stretches 32 km along the coastal line of Gulf of Riga. Jurmala resort once was one of the most important objects of this type in the Northern Europe. This was facilitated by the development of local and interstate transport and traffic (coaches, steamers, train). The first guests was accommodated in Dubulti, where in 1834 the first hotel was built, but in 1847 - The first wellness centre. In the 19th the first medical institution launched. Starting from 1834 the rapid construction of summer cottages began. Development of the resort was ended by the World War I. After the war the number of resort vacationers boomed from 12 thousand (in 1920) to 32 thousand (in 1935). Kemeri resort developed along with Jurmala, which received a massive of vacationers' amount during the Soviet period.
Today, Jurmala is a popular venue of concerts, festivals, exhibitions, sports competitions, and other public events.

The rest complex is situated on the shore of the man-made water reservoir, and there are two saunas on the territory – the Big sauna and the Small sauna. In the building of the Big sauna it is possible to organise different events for as many as 40 people, and in summertime – till 60 people. In the Small sauna – up to 20 people. Apart from the saunas, there are offered 20 different picnic places with tables, places for grills and tents, volleyball playgrounds, boats and water-bicycles for rent.
