The Kretinga Estate park is one of the oldest ones in Lithuania to have survived to the present days.  Established in the 16th and 17th century, it is a mixed-style park that covers 23 ha of land.  The southern part of the park has an astronomical calendar with a sundial, a hedge, allies, and flowerbeds and rock gardens with dahlias, peonies, tulips and roses.  There are trails for strollers and areas for relaxation.  Particularly popular among local residents is the restored fountain in the park.

A comparatively large swamp to the North of the Zaļā dune, this is an important place for sulphurous waters, just as is the case with Zaļais swamp.  The swamp is cut in two by the 3.5 km Ķemeri-Antiņciems road, from which interesting landscapes can be seen.  The road is not appropriate for cars, however.  To the East of Raganu swamp is Lake Putnezers, which is difficult to access.  There is a small car park with an information stand on the shore of Lake Melnezers alongside the Ķemeri-Jaunķemeri road.  The historical and overgrown Old Ķemeri road can be used to get to the seashore from this location.

The estate in Milzkalne that is along the banks of the Slocene River dates back to the 15th century, when it was built as a closed complex for the Livonian Order.  It is the only fortified estate of its type to have survived to the present day, and it was once used as a hiding place for aristocrats during an attack.  The gate towers with their ornate weather vanes were built in the late 17th century, and the ancillary buildings date back to the 18th and 19th century.  A brick wall with firing apertures survives.  The Latvian Road Museum is in one of the wings of the complex, while the former mansion offers accommodations, tours and tastings of local goodies.

The tour introduces visitors to varied landscapes, local traditions and historic sites. Travellers are usually surprised that such a small territory holds so many contrasts. Riga offers a medieval Old Town and elegant Art Nouveau district, then comes Sigulda with three castles on the high banks of the Gauja river valley. Saaremaa island is a pleasure to drive around with good quality, quiet roads, windmills, medieval churhes and ethnographic villages. Tallinn has its walled Old Town while Lahemaa national park has an almost mystical landscape There is also elegant Palmse Manor. The tour goes through sleepy villages in eastern Latvia with distinctive pottery, ancient culinary traditions, and the Catholic pilgrimage site of Aglona. Vilnius' historic centre has distinctive baroque churches. The massive sand dunes of the Curonian Spit and Nida with its characteristic blue framed windows are among Lithuania's most attractive sights. Trakai has its picturesque medieval castle on the lake as well as the small Karaitis ethnic comunity with their unique traditions and food. Port towns Klaipeda and Liepaja have both developed into bustling modern cities with lively cafe culture.

This is the only dairy processing company in Latvia to prepare “Tea” cheese from fresh milk and with various flavours.  The company offers smoked cheese sausage, cheese salad, and the “Gardumiņš” grand of sweet cottage cheese treats, as well as other types of dairy products.  These can be bought at the Daugavpils market, the Central Market in Rīga, and all Latgales Dairy retail locations in Latvia.

This saloon is in a lovely place – the ancient Abava River valley between Kandava and Sabile. It is housed in an historical building with among the largest chimneys in the Baltic States. A camp for water tourists is alongside the saloon.
