For the promotion of bread traditions

SIA Saldus Maiznieks, which was founded in 1992, is a family business that produces approximately 2 tonnes of rye bread daily, which is made by using malt and natural leaven. The company offers excursions, during which the visitors are allowed to try the role of a baker. The excursions are conducted by Kristīne Kriņģele, the apprentice baker of Latvian Chamber of Crafts.

Master classes and excursions are led by the journeyman baker Kristīne Kriņģele.

A tour of the bakery, observing the processes, tasting different types of dough and sourdough, and learning the secrets of cooling and packaging bread. Tasting at the end of the tour. For groups of 10-30 pers., 1.5 h.

Master class in baking rye bread, sweet and sour bread, and white bread. The possibility to take your freshly baked bread home with you. For groups of 5-8 pers., 4 h.
