In WC there are mixer taps, but flushing mechanism of toilet has two types of capacity. Rainwater is stored in barrels and used for watering of a garden. Organic waste is fed to domestic animals. In 2014 there has been written a project on acquisition of bicycles for needs of customers and submitted to the Rural Support Service. In the centre there is a cafe „Siena šķūnis” (Hayshed) that does not use convenience foods in cooking of meals. They are growing greens and dishing up meals made of the fish from the Baltic Sea – cods, flukes and herrings. The cafe offers ‘sklandrauši’ (traditional dish in Latvian cuisine; sweet pie made of rye dough and filled with potato and carrot paste) and grey peas; collaborates with other catering companies, invites ladies from Rucava who present to the guests traditions of Lejaskurzeme. For children there is a wide playground with different amusements and domestic animals – rabbits, goats and sheep. |
