On September 8, the second partner meeting of the project “Exports of the Baltic and Finnish Craft Ciders to Australia” (CB0700297 – BALT-FIN-CIDER) took place in Pärnu, Estonia. Project partners and craft cider makers from Latvia, Estonia, and Finland gathered to plan the next project activities together.

The partner meeting was complemented by two online webinars led by the well-known UK cider expert Gabe Cook, also known as “The Ciderologist”:
1) Technical webinar with Gabe Cook (“The Ciderologist”) and Sigrid Gertsen Schibbye (Lallemand Brewing) on apple selection for cider-making, pressing, yeast choices, nutrition, and quality control in the production process.

2) Commercial webinar with Gabe Cook and Tom Oliver (UK, Oliver’s Cider & Perry Ltd.) focusing on business aspects – understanding the market, product identity, packaging, and brand building.

At the end of the day, the first meeting of the Steering Group took place, bringing together its members for the first time:
The Steering Group discussed the availability of Latvian state support for export activities, recommendations for brand development, and the possible involvement and support of each member in the future growth of the Baltic Cider brand.
