Nature restricted area has been established in old and overgrowing gravel pit and where rare species in Latvia - Natterjack toad (Bufo calamita) can be found. Natterjack toad needs open sand – gravel area therefore the population of it is decreasing once gravel pit is overgrowing by bushes. The population of this amphibian is depending on the activity of people in the area. There is very little chance to find Natterjack toad just by entering the restricted area, therefore please respect this area as especially sensitive.

There are three craters here, and the biggest one, known locally as Põrguhaud, or Grave of Hell, has a diameter of 80 m and a depth of up to 12 m. There are barriers around the crater that are several metres high. The other two craters are hard to spot. The craters around 6,000 years old. No scraps of the supposed meteorite have been found, however, and so the origins of the craters cannot be confirmed with certainty.

Der Salaca-Fluss ist einer der wichtigsten Flüsse in der Ostseeregion als Laichgebiet für den Lachs, und es ist der zweitwichtigste Fluss für Wassertourismus in der lettischen Region von Vidzeme. Hier gibt es geologische Denkmäler, die für Besucher besonders attraktiv sind – Die Roten Klippen, der Skaņais-Berg, die Neļķu-Klippe, die Velna-(Teufels) Höhle usw. Hier sind auch solche Kulturdenkmäler wie der Livische Burgberg, der Vecsalaca - Gutshof, das Livische Museum, das Vantenberģi - Anwesen, die einzigartigen Neunaugen - Stauwehre usw. Im Park befindet sich auch eins der beliebtesten touristischen Ziele in Nordvidzeme – der Skaņākalna-Park, der ein dichtes Netz von Wanderpfaden hat. Der Salaca ist auch beliebt bei Fischern. Dies ist Teil des Nordvidzemer Biosphärenreservats.

This viewing tower is on a narrow peninsula among Lake Lukna, Lake Višķi, and Lake Boltars. From it, you can see all three lakes, the hillocks of the area, as well as Ambeļi and Višķi. Come here when the bird-cherry trees are in bloom!

Atrodas Tērvetes ziemeļrietumu daļā, Tērvetes upītes krasta līkumā. „Sprīdīšos” sava mūža pēdējo desmitgadi (no 1922. līdz 1933. g.) strādāja un atpūtās latviešu rakstniece Anna Brigadere (1861. - 1933). Šajā laikā top lugas, stāsti, dzejoļi un rakstnieces atmiņu triloģija. No laukakmeņiem celtā „Sprīdīšu” ēka uzbūvēta 1840 g. Te sākotnēji darbojušās ūdensdzirnavas, tad skola, dzīvojuši mežziņi. Tagad šeit aplūkojams rakstnieces memoriālais muzejs. No „Sprīdīšiem” var uzsākt garāku pastaigu pa Tērvetes dabas parku, kur izvietoti no koka darinātie A. Brigaderes pasaku varoņi.

The mouth of the most beautiful river of Vidzeme. On the seashore between the mouths of River Gauja and River Daugava, one of the largest dune ranges in Latvia with distinctive parabolic dunes overgrown with forest (wooded dunes) is situated. The Mouth of River Gauja is unique as it is one of the few major rivers in Latvia and in EU countries to flow into the sea naturally. There is no harbour or other hydro-engineering construction. It is a popular recreation area in the vicinity of Riga and Saulkrasti while, unfortunately, the lack of infrastructure makes it suffer from anthropogenic load.

Not far from the rivermouth, hidden in dunes, there are pillboxes which were built in 1920 or 30ies as anti-airborne barriers. There was a whole range of them along the coastline from the mouth of the River Lielupe to the mouth of the River Gauja forming a part of the Daugavgrīva Fortress fortifications. The pillbox is made of concrete, ca 1.5m thick.

Every year, on the 3rd Sunday in August, a lamprey festival takes place in Carnikava town by the Gauja rivermouth. Carnikava is called the Lamprey Capital as it is famous for its lamprey fishing tradition and generous catches.

Die Wirte haben den Brotofen der vierten Generation restauriert, um die Tradition des Brotbackens fortzusetzen. Die Familie backt das Brot in den Herbst– und Wintermonaten, von September bis April. This is the only Straw Museum in Latvia, with ~370 sculptures and dolls made of straw and hay. Children in particular will love the chance to learn skills related to straw and hay at the creative straw workshop, where specific methodologies have been developed. Children will be able to take the things that they create along with them. The owners prepare holiday designs and elements, as well as attractive souvenirs.

Atrodas Vārtājas ielejas labajā krastā un labi saskatāms no Priekules – Grobiņas (P106) ceļa. Senās kuršu zemes – Piemares pilskalns, kas vēstures avotos pirmo reizi minēts 1253. gadā – līgumā starp Kurzemes bīskapu un Livonijas ordeni. Viens no lielākajiem Dienvidkurzemes pilskalniem. Iespējams, ka iepriekš – arī sens kulta kalns. Pagājušā gadsimta sešdesmitajos gados veiktajos arheoloģiskajos izrakumos konstatēts, ka pilskalns bijis apdzīvots jau vidējā dzelzs laikmetā. Pie tā konstatēta liela senspilsētas vieta.

Истоки площади Роз уходят в 1911 - 1913 гг., когда на этом месте разбили открытый сад с > 500 кустами роз. В советское время рядом с площадью Роз был установлен памятник Ленину. Восстановленную в 2000 году площадь окружает Лиепайская Педагогическая академия, гостиница «Лива», Центр бизнеса и сделок De Rome (построен в XIX веке, архитектор Пауль Макс Берчи, бывшая гостиница «Рим») и Лиепайский дом латышского общества (камень в основание заложил Карлис Ульманис в 1934 г.). По бордюрам грядок роз размещены памятные знаки городов содружества Лиепаи. К площади Роз подходит улица Зивью (Рыбная), получившая свое название от когда-то существовавшего рыбного рынка. На улице Зивью находится Аллея славы латвийских музыкантов (с 2006 г.), где установлено 35 плит с бронзовым рельефом ладоней музыкантов, 10 плит, посвященные популярным латвийским музыкальным группам, а 5 – ушедшим в мир иной. Здесь же установлена самая большая гитара Латвии.
