Three little lakes can be found on the left bank of the Pirita River with many erupting “eyes” of streams, each with its own colour (bluish-green, white, dark). This puts together various colour combinations. These are often known as the most beautiful streams in Estonia. Some pump out as much as 20-30 litres of water per hour. It is said that the waters are good medical resources, particularly for the eyes. There are improvements in the area of tourists.

The farm offers a look at angora rabbits, which are very uncommon in Latvia. The owner offers tours, stories, rabbit wool, wool products such as mittens and socks, breeding rabbits and consultations. Children will love the animals and can feed them in the presence of the owner. |

Hier befindet sich ein Gedenkstein für K. Valdemārs, der von den Verdiensten von K. Valdemārs für den Werdegang und die Entwicklung der Republik Lettland zeugt. An dieser Stelle befand sich einst die Seefahrtschule von Roja bzw. Lubezere und neben der Schule – ein Lehrerhaus, das bis heutzutage erhalten ist. Jetzt sind hier die Privatpraxen der Familienärzte von Roja. Die Seefahrtschule existierte vom Jahr 1873 bis zum Jahr 1915, aber während des Ersten Weltkriegs vernichtet wurde. Die Seefahrtschule bereitete die Steuermänner der Küstenschifffahrt vor. Hier konnte man kostenlos und auf Lettisch lernen. This 368 metre structure is the highest television tower in the European Union. Its viewing area, which is at a height of 97 metres, is the highest publicly available viewing area in Latvia. The location offers a fantastic view of Rīga and Old Rīga to Pārdaugava, the Bay of Rīga and Sigulda – a radius of at least 50 kilometres.

Seda is one of the most unusual towns in Latvia. It began its life as a housing area for people from the local peat moss factory, and that happened in the 1950s and 1960s. This is a “vivid” example of Soviet architecture, with a central square (complete with a monument to the Leader) and streets radiating from it. Worth a visit is the cultural centre at the end of Uzvaras Street. It is a great example of so-called Stalinist Classicism architecture. |

Als das Gründungsjahr von Daugavpils wird das Jahr 1275 angesehen. Das ist die Zeit, als der Heermeister des Livländischen Ordens Ernst von Ratzeburg auf dem Burgberg von Naujene die Burg Dinaburga (Dünaburg) gebaut hat. Die Burg hat mehrmals unter litauischen und russischen Einfällen gelitten, bis sie im Jahr 1557 von dem russischen Heer unter der Leitung von Iwan dem Schrecklichen zerstört wurde. Nach diesem Ereignis wurde die Dünaburg 17 km weiter am rechten Ufer des Flusses erneuert, wo sich heute die Stadt Daugavpils befindet. In der Zeit zwischen 1810 – 1833 wurde eine neue Festung gebaut. Im Jahr 1826 wurde mit dem Bau des heutigen historischen Zentrums begonnen. Während des Ersten Weltkriegs wurden die wichtigsten Industrieunternehmen mit ihren Mitarbeitern nach Russland abtransportiert. Während der ersten Unabhängigkeit Lettlands blühte das Kulturleben von Daugavpils auf. Der größte Teil der Stadt wurde während des Zweiten Weltkriegs – im Juli 1944 – zerstört. Heute ist Daugavpils die zweitgrößte Stadt in Lettland und ein bedeutendes wirtschaftliches Zentrum der historischen Region Latgale. Vor einiger Zeit wurden Rekonstruktionsarbeiten in der Festung von Daugavpils begonnen, die auch in Europa einzigartig ist. |

is located in the village Stari 450 m from Atspuki mill, 70 mto the Southeast from the ruins of Jumpravmuiža.
The territory is 0,7 – 1 m deep outside and 1 – 1,5 m high inside. The new road to the ruins of Jumpravmuiža
leads through the West side of the fortification.

It is the bicycle collection of father and son Jānis and Guntis Seregins, which is the only collection of antique bicycles in Latvia. They have been collecting cycles since 1977 when they joined the Antique Automobile Club and became fascinated with Latvia’s cycling traditions. The collection’s core is formed from technically unusual bicycles. In total, the museum has approximately 70 Latvian-made and used bicycles. Besides bicycles there are many other pieces of cycling ephemera relating to sport, cycle clubs and bicycle production. The museum has an extensive collection of bicycle brands, bringing together 1000 badges from all over the world. Guided excursions available. |

Die Gastgeberin des Strandhauses Tahku organisiert Workshops zum Marinieren und Einlegen von Gurken. Dabei herrscht eine fröhliche Atmosphäre. Das Gurkenfest Tahkuranna findet jedes Jahr am 20. August statt. Man kann dort auch Gurkenkonserve, lokale Lebensmittelprodukte und Handwerkserzeugnisse kaufen sowie Handwerkserzeugnisse selbst herstellen. |

Ein Stegpfad führt zu den Schwefelquellen im Hexenmoor (Raganu purvs), wo sich in Moorseen Sedimente aus Schwefelbakterien und eine besondere Artenvielfalt ausgebildet haben - die so genannten Schwefelteiche. Eine besondere Landschaft und der Duft von schwefeligem Wasserstoff.
