Fishermen along the seashore of the Baltic Sea love Laikas. They can hope to catch plaice, cod and eels, after which the owners of the farm will cook tasty fish soup or smoke the fish. You can help out in the process. |

Sweet and sour rye bread is baked here on the hearth of a wood-fired oven, following an old family recipe and using home-grown, historical varieties of rye flour. The dough consists of rye or barley flour, salt, sugar, caraway seas and natural yeast. You can help to bake the bread, taste and buy it, and tour the farm’s museum. The farm grows its own grain in an environmentally friendly way. Available for purchase: sweet and sour rye bread, sweet and sour rye bread with peas, garlic, seeds, hemp, or without sugar. |

This is a unique opportunity to watch the work of various craftspeople (amber workers, jewellers, weavers, seamstresses, etc.) and purchase their masterful work. You will see the world’s longest amber necklace (123 m, 19 kg!!), which was made with bits of amber that were contributed by local residents. Creative workshops are organised for children. |

Located in the threshing barn of an old estate in Alsunga. There is a souvenir shop where you can purchase practical items such as shawls, gloves, stockings, dishes, herbal teas, etc. Creative workshops are available here for children, and if you contact the venue in advance, you can meet with Suiti women to learn about traditions and to sing and play games. The centre has been awarded the "Latvian heritage" cultural sign. |

This farm offers tours, seminars and training for beekeepers. You can visit the bees, help to grow queen bees, produce honey and candles, and taste some of the good things that come from beehives. This educational facility will inform you about beekeeping traditions and allow you to work as a beekeeper. The owners share their knowledge during training sessions. |

The pride of the farm is a herd of approximately 100 goats, and the owner produces milk, cheese, cottage cheese and yogurt from goat milk. You can go on a tour, visit the animals, and taste and purchase biologically produced and healthy products. You can go fishing in the nearby pond and then grill your catch. |

This is the first farm in Latvia which began to grow mushrooms. Informative tours are available, advice is given, and guests are treated with the “emperor mushroom” sauce or soup. You can also order other foods which involve shitake mushrooms or purchase them in dry or powdered form. The owner also produces an ancient herbal beverage called “Ponšo,” and it is only available at Garīkas. |

This farm produces herbal teas and satchels of tea from lemon balm, raspberries, tansy, lady's mantles, plantago and linden blossoms as souvenirs and gifts, as well as honey from local hives. The lady of the house will be happy to tell you about life in the countryside and take you on an educational tour featuring medicinal plants, beekeeping and fence buildings. She will also offer tastings of products from the farm. It has a biological farming certificate, so much attention is focused on the popularisation of a healthy lifestyle. The Sprogi farm *Object Inactive*

The owner of this, the former Lieģi Estate, has an apple orchard in which he uses environmentally friendly methods that do not harm people’s health. He has some 240 apple trees of 130 varieties, as well as pear trees, plum trees and berry bushes. Apples and berries can be tasted and purchased, and Mr Pakalns can offer you valuable advice. The farm has been nominated as the most romantic orchard in Latvia. |

The craftswoman will talk about and demonstrate the way in which she produces various products, encouraging you to do some of the work on your own. You can buy ready-made objects or commission new ones. |

In the barn of Padure manor (the only one three-storey barn in Latvia built in the empire style) the groups of tourists are offered kocha (a substantial pearl barley porridge with onions and meat), differents soups (fish, sorrel), dumplings, cheese and differents sweet dishes. The tasting of home-made wine. For those interested, the owner will tell about yearly traditions, as well as the barn’s history. Latvian cuisine: Fish and sorrel soup, sweet and savoury dumplings, pork ribs, cheeses, desserts, homemade wine. Special foods: A hearty pearl barley porridge with onions and meat. |

The farm grows peas, grits and beans, and it breeds cattle. Visitors can take a tour to learn about biodynamic agricultural techniques. |

The artist’s workshop is in a lovely single family farm. She weaves tapestries, allows visitors to watch her at work, accepts commissions for tapestries, and sells finished ones. Many of her artworks are practical souvenirs or could be fine gifts for others. |

This farm grows black currants, blackberries, raspberries, rowans, sea-buckthorn and other berries from which the owner produces homemade wine. The cellar of the castle of the former Order of Kuldīga (with room for up to 25 people) offers tastings of three different wines. Larger groups are welcome to the granary of the Padure Estate. |

The owners began to grow watermelons in 1997, using types that are appropriate for the climate in Latvia. Of particular interest are watermelons which have a yellow interior. The largest watermelon that the farm produced weighed 11 kg. During the season, you can purchase watermelons and hear advice from the owners. |

The owner will tell you about wild plants and help you to cook tasty meals with them. You will receive valuable advice about how to use these gifts from nature for nutritional purposes and to improve your health. |

The owner of the bakery bakes bread on maple leaves in accordance with ancient recipes. She also bakes three-layer carrot buns (rye flour, potatoes and carrots). You can learn about the baking process and then taste and purchase the finished products. The lady of the house demonstrates and teaches traditions related to the baking of bread and carrot buns. While the buns are in the oven, she will talk about the Suiti region and offer a look at Suiti folk costumes. |

On the second Saturday of each month (or at other times that are arranged in advance), the owner will allow you to test your skills at smoking fish, after which you will be able to taste what you have produced. |

The granary and cheese-making facility of the former Sieksāte (Berghof) Estate now house a museum (since 1985) which tracks the route of milk from the cow to the finished product. You can try your hand at milking cows and churning butter, and then you can taste what you have created. There is also a garden of fallow deer. |
