This nature park is located in the most distinct part of the Dagda hillocks of the Latgale highlands. Part of it is the deepest lake in the Baltic States -- Lake Drīdzis, which is 63.1 metres deep and has nine islands. Also there is Lake Otis. The loveliest views can be watched from the ancient Lettigalian castle hill that is known as Sauleskalns, and from the eastern shores of Lake Drīdzis. Accommodations are available near the lake.

Ja Rušona ezeru iepazīstiet ar laivu, tad var apmeklēt Lielo salu (ezera rietumdaļā),kur (augstākajā vietā) ir jāuzmeklē ap 1,2 m augstais akmens. Konstatēts, ka tā apkārtnē un uz virsmas kurināta uguns. Atrastas arī senlietas. Nostāsti vēsta, ka akmens virsmā bijušas iekaltas zīmes (nav saskatāmas) un pie tā upurēti jēri. Tikai nedodieties ezerā, ja ir vai gaidāms stiprs vējš! Rušona ezera salas ir dabas liegums.

Palmse Manor is known to be considered as one of the most beautiful manors in Estonia. The manor has been mentioned first in 1510 as a property of women's monastery. In later centuries it belonged to Palenu family. Manor was built in 1697 but it was made the way we see it nowadays in 18th century. It has been renovated one more time in 1970-1980's. Around the building is a big and scenic park with several ponds. Inside the manor you can become familiar with its interior and visit the basement as well as buy Estonian wine.

Saaremaa and Hiumaa are the two largest ones amongst 1500 other Estonian islands. In fact Saaremaa is the common name for Muhu and Saaremaa islands which are connected by the causeway like Hiumaa and Kassari islands. 
Kuressare is a capital of Saaremaa and that's from where this route starts. There is impressive medieval Bishop's Castle, many spas, pleasant cafés, galleries and market in the town. From Kuressare the route goes to sparsely populates Sõrve peninsula. Then going towards Kihelkonna you pass Viidumäe Nature Reserve and reach Vilsandi National Park which encompasses Vilsandi and 150 other off-shore islets. Its headquarters is at Loona Manor. 
Small fishermen villages, picturesque juniper growth, windmills are typical for the Saaremaa landscape. 
From Triigi there is a ferry to Hiumaa island which is much wilder than Saaremaa. There are peninsulas to all direction stretching in the sea. The route goes to Kõpu peninsula where is the most remarkable and the third oldest lighthouse in Europe located.  Kärdla is the main town of the island once renowned for its textiles factory which now houses museum. Kassari island is a retreat from several Estonian artists who has summer houses there. Kassari Church is unusual for its thatched roof. 
Arriving back to Saaremaa explore Meteorite Lake at Kaali and the earliest stone church in Estonia – Valjala Church. Return to Kuressare.

The hydroplane airfield is on the eastern shore of Lake Durbe, not far from Līguti. It was built between 1939 and 1941. During the Soviet era, the 43rd aviation escadrille was located here, and it had 13 MBR-2 hydroplanes. All that’s left today are the cement sheets on the shore of the lake. You can look at the site itself.

Lots of wild animals can be found in vast paddocks along the ancient Gauja river valley and its small tributaries – areas in which living conditions are as close to natural circumstances as possible. Here the visitor can find, if lucky, reindeer, deer, wild boars, bears, foxes, lynx, various kinds of birds, as well as aurochs. There is a dense network of pathways in the park, including lots of information. There is also a route for drivers and bicyclists. During the winter, it is used for distance skiing. Then you will drive to Ķemeri National Park, where you will have some small hiking along the Forest Trail till the place Bigauņciems, where the Forest Trail meets the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route. After that you will hike along the Forest Trail in the beautiful Abava River valley and see Sabile - the wine and cider town. Then you will reach the most charming Kurzeme town - Kuldīga with its old town streets, the bridge over river Venta, the promenade and waterfall. Afterwards you will drive to the coast and have some hike along the most outstanding bluffs around the Baltic Sea.


Then you will also see Liepāja - the windy city and hike in the Pape Nature Park. Further the tour will bring you to Lithuania and its Baltic Coastal Hiking Route part. You will see the resort town Palanga, Klaipėda and hike in the Curonian Spit from Pervalka to Juodkrantė to see the interesting sand dunes. Further you will drive from Klaipėda to Paplatelė and enjoy a 1 day hiking in Žemaitija National Park. Then you will drive to Telšiai and explore the Lake Germantas and landscape reserve along small forest paths and wooden footbridges.

Городище Милкас находится на северном берегу залива западной части озера Салайс, неподалеку от истока реки Малты. Гора поднимается на 27 м над уровнем озера.
