Kaltene is home to a memorial house that has been set up in honour of Andris Kārkliņš, who was known as the first internationally recognised flamenco guitarist of Latvian origin. Known as Andres El Leton, he was a composer, poet, writer and photographer. Visitors will learn all about the artist’s life and work via audio and video recordings. Up on the second floor of the building is a small creative workshop (SIA “Rakstu Raksti,” where people produce applied arts items such as folk costumes, linen products, accessories, souvenirs, etc. They sew apparel and home textiles from linen and other natural materials. The workshop has floristics specialists, and it accepts orders on sewn, knit and crocheted products. Master classes are also available. Visitors will enjoy local produced foodstuffs from the Roja Administrative District (fish, wine, cheese, conserves, jams, teas, etc.). Handicrafts and souvenirs are available for purchase. |

If you are looking for an unusual landscape and longing for silence, head to one of Latvia’s bogs. While in some European countries natural bogs have almost disappeared, you will be able to enjoy walks full of silence in pristine bogs in Latvia. No cars, people, bells and whistles surrounding you. It is the best antidepressant in the world and a great place to recharge. Bogshoes are like snowshoes – except you wear them in bogs when there is no snow. Bogshoes have been used to walk on wetlands throughout the times. These footwear allow us access to the places where it is hard or even impossible to reach by foot. |

The “Rozītes” rose garden is found in the Sēme Parish in Kurzeme, and it covers a bit less than 3 hectares. There are more than 3,000 rose plants in the garden with 300 different varieties. There are also perennials and rare trees in the garden. Visitors will enjoy three lovely ponds which have fish in them, but they are meant more for beauty and relaxation. You can watch the fish from the terrace, walk across a flower island, and go to our amphitheatre to listen to relaxing music. On a hot summer day, visit the “water rock” to hear the bubbling sound of the surrounding water. Daila and Bruno Trubiņš will be happy to give you a tour of the garden and tell you all about the plants and how to care for them. You can purchase rose and perennial plants. Each June we organise a Rose Festival with an extensive programme for adults and children alike. Visitors are welcome to taste rose jam and drinks made of rose petals. We can host seminars, concerts, weddings and photo sessions. The garden is open from May until the end of September, and we particularly welcome visitors when the flowers are in full bloom. The “Celmiņi” weekend house is found in a quiet and forested location in the Kūkas Parish of the Krustpils Administrative District. Guests can enjoy active leisure or relaxation that are provided by the surrounding environment. The venue has three types of saunas – a wet sauna, a steam or Turkish sauna, and a traditional Latvian sauna. There is a vat of water outside the sauna, and there is also relaxation in a bee healing process (a seasonal offer). There is a house with four bedrooms (up to 15 people), as well as two small huts where two people can stay. During the summer, there are another four camping huts for two persons. The venue can host parties up to 35 people, while the sauna building will accommodate up to 12 individuals. Depending on the season, there can be archery, paintball, creative workshops, soup cooked on a campfire, as well as educational activities for children. |

DabaLaba is in one of the places in Latvia that has the very lowest population density per square kilometre. There are huge forests around our venue with lots of animals, clean rivers and lovely forest lakes. DabaLaba launched operations in 2010 by renting boats. The next season we set up an archery range and started to offer guided tours of the surrounding environment – hikes, safari trips down the forest roads of the “Ance Swamps and Forests” restricted area, interesting, merry and lovely moments outdoors, hunting with your camera, as well as special trips for schoolchildren. Boats and SUP boards can be rented in Irbe, Rinda, Stende, Engure and Lonaste (or elsewhere on the basis of a separate agreement). Since August 2018, DabaLaba has offered the restaurant #Mežā during the summer months. It is in the centre of the forest and offers pure, tasty and healthy dishes made of local ingredients and no preservatives or additives. The menu has dishes for vegetarians and vegans, as well as dishes with no gluten and no lactose. We also have a country sauna where two people can spend the night after taking their sauna.

В приготовлении блюд используют пиво как составную часть блюда. Современно в латышской манере из домашнего урожая готовят еду и закуски к пиву. Летом работает открытое кафе. Усадьба Бланкенфельде расположена в Земгале - в часе езды от Риги. Усадьба имеет статус национального культурного памятника. Название усадьбы впервые было упомянуто во времена Курляндии и Семигалии - когда в период с 1689 - 1701 г.г. владельцем являлся Эрнест Фон Медемс. В 1891 году владельцами становится род Ханов. В усадьбе насчитывалось 16 зданий. Хозяйский дом – построенное в 18-ом веке одноэтажное здание с двускатной крышей. В 19-ом веке его перестраивают в стиле классицизма. В 1925 году в здании обустраивают приют для психически больных людей, а после Второй мировой войны - дом инвалидов. В настоящее время усадьба восстановлена и находится в частной собственности. Рядом с усадьбой находится родовое захоронение семьи Ханов, которое восстановлено и очищено. Восстановлен красивый приусадебный парк Бланкенфельде, в котором оборудована современная детская площадка, а в реконструированных конюшнях - на первом этаже основан музей колоколов, а на втором - современные гостиничные номера, где можно остаться, наслаждаясь атмосферой усадьбы, спокойным отдыхом, и на следующее утро - вкусным завтраком. Доступны помещения также в восточном крыле особняка, где можно отдохнуть в отдельных номерах - апартаментах. Усадьба предлагает помещения для проведения мероприятий и торжеств до 60 человек. В парке усадьбы расположены места для палаток и пикника. Можно осмотреть коллекцию колоколов. |

В «Пиекуни» предлагают латышские банные ритуалы, где процесс парки объединен с народными песнями и травяными чаями. Позже можно получить удовольствие от отдыха на кроватях, сделанных в стиле древних латышей (из бревен). Вместе с хозяином можно отправиться в поход и узнать, как наши предки сживались с природой - с растениями, камнями, энергиями и др. |

В хозяйстве выращивают посевную коноплю, из семян которой добывают конопляное масло и делают грубый помол. Около клети (101 год) выставлены старинные инструменты, при помощи которых обрабатывались волокна конопли. Здесь можно попробовать и приобрести вкусную продукцию, а также отправиться в увлекательное путешествие в прошлое, рассказывающее об истории выращивания конопли. Винодельня обустроена в старинных 300-летних подвалах здания Крапской усадьбы, расположенной недалеко от Лиелварде. Прадед хозяина, Вилис Лаускис, был известным латвийским плодоводом и преподавал в Булдурской садоводческой школе. Большая часть урожая яблок собрана с посаженных им – теперь уже столетних – яблонь. |
