One of the most beautiful sections of the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route in Matsalu National Park, which leads through the agricultural lands and coastal meadows located near Matsalu Bay, where thousands of migrating cranes and geese gather in autumn. There are excellent birdwatching sites with towers near Haeska village (coastal meadows, shallow coves, small islets, cattle pastures) and at Cape Puise (coastal meadows with pastures, shoals). The Grandboulder of Komultēni is situated in Sakstagals rural municipality in the forests; around 700
m from Jēkabpils – Rezekne road to the NE of Komultēni. The flat top and the sides are cracked. Boulder consists
of the magmatized gneiss. The circuit of the boulder is 15 m, length 5 m, width 3 m, height 1.8 m,
capacity about 20 m3.

This mixed-type park dates back to the latter half of the 19th century and has remained all but unchanged. It is in a lovely place between two lakes, and its spatial structure was preserved when it was restored. The park covers 10 ha and has two parts. One is a fairly precisely rectangular territory alongside the state, surrounded by a stand of linden trees and introduced trees. The other part has a natural forest. The largest oak tree in the park has been declared to be a protected element of natural heritage. The mighty trunk of the tree is 6.3 m around, has a 2m diameter and stands 30.5 m high. |

This is the largest cemetery of the brethren from the World War I period, and it is the final resting place for some 1,800 Latvian Riflemen, as well as some 2,000 soldiers who served in various Russian army units and were reinterred during the 1930s. There is a monument at the centre of the graveyard. |

Since 1820 people have been brewing Estonian beer here using local ingredients, like groundwater, yeast and others. The Saku Brewhouse name comes from the previous brewery that worked until 1992. The brewhouse also has a museum where you can see beer production from centuries ago until this very day. During the tour it is possible to taste freshly made beer. Minors are not allowed to participate in the tour. |
