The Baltic Sea region is the most afforested territory in all of Europe. The forest is an inviolable component of the Northern European landscape and cultural environment.  Forests and trees have served as sources of inspiration for people over the course of ages, leading to countless legends, stories, fairy tales and riddles as a very important part of the intangible folklore heritage of Northern European peoples.  Neither can it be denied that the forest has always been an important source for timber and non-timber (mushrooms, berries) resources in the economies of the lands which encircle the Baltic Sea.

Unsere Wintertour bietet beides - die festliche Atmosphäre der lettische Hauptstadt Riga mit seinem wunderbarem Weihnachtsmarkt und ein entspanntes, romantisches Landleben. Die ersten paar Tage der Reise genießt man im geschäftigen Riga mit seinen vielfältigen Aktivitäten, Veranstaltungen, netten Cafés und Museen. Danach führt die Route Richtung Sigulda im Gauja Nationalpark, Übernachtung im Spa Hotel. Im lettischen Wintersportort Sigulda bietet sich verschiedene Aktivitäten an wie z.B. Skilaufen, Schlittenfahren und sowie eine Bobfahrt im Eiskanal. Entdecken Sie die mittelalterlichen Burgen von Sigulda und Turaida. Genießen Sie den Hausgemachteen Wein im Herrenhaus Krimulda. Beobachten Sie die einheimischen Wildtiere wie Wisent, Elch und Wolf im Ligatne Naturpark und besuchen Sie einen typischen Bauernhof.

New hiking tour at the Gauja National Park is now available for bookings for the next season. It features the best trails and attractions within the ancient Gauja River valley with many tributaries and deep ravines with massive sandstone cliffs from the Devonian period. The tour passes also cultural monuments of pan-Baltic importance – the Turaida Museum Reserve, scenic Sigulda Castle ruins, the medieval old town of Cesis with its mighty castle ruins and St John’s Church, the reconstructed lake settlement at Āraiši as well as the wooden baroque manor - Ungurmuiža Manor.
