Atrodas pie Kuldīgas pils dzirnavām, kur straujā Alekšupīte pirms ietekas Ventā izgrauzusi dziļu „kanjonu” dolomītā. The word “Luitemaa” means “land of the dunes” in Estoninan. This coastline territory stretches for 13 km between Vöiste and Häädemeste with shallow waters, large coastal plains, Estonia’s highest dunes, and the Tokuse swamp (Tokuse raba). There are lots of birds here.

The Castle is a theme park depicting life of the 16th C stronghold where families can spend an exciting day as soldiers and noble knights. There is horse riding, bow and crossbow shooting, you can practise carpentry and blacksmith skills, mint coins, make gold and gunpowder. Facilities include a wine cellar, torture chamber, death room, medieval brothel, astronomy room, barber and alchemist workshops. The Schenkenberg Tavern menu has dishes cooked to medieval recipes. |

The island of 7.5 km2 in Lake Peipsi is largely inhabited by Russian-speaking Old Believers who have broadly retained their old traditions through time. Traditional trades are fishing and growing vegetables, mainly onion. |

The trail tells about the protected nature area which is found in Riga city and has been established to protect the seashore habitats (forests, meadows, reeds, dunes) and the birds, populating the daugavgrīva meadows. There is a bird watching tower with facilities for people with special needs.

This is one of the most ornate and beautiful tree farms in Latvia, with some 1,000 types and forms of plants. The owner will take you on a tour, and you can purchase coniferous trees, decorative bushes, plants for fencing, ivies, and outstanding grafted trees and bushes in containers (1-200 litres). A colourful arboretum is also on offer, along with garden consultations. This can be used as a venue for events and photo sessions. |

This progressive biological farm grows some 50 types of biological vegetables and greens. The farmers own 10 ha of land where they grow various vegetables outdoors and in greenhouses in the Biržu region. |

The family enterprise (formed in 2006) makes home-made ice-cream from fruit and berries. They make both classical – such as plombieres, cream, joghurt ice-creams and sorbets and nowadays cuisine’s „miracle”- sprat, blue cheese, horse-radish and potato ice-cream with tomato sauce. Till now 80 different ice-cream recipes have been tried. If you book a visit beforehand, you can have an excursion and learn everything about the process of making ice-cream from the chefs themselves. In the cafe it is possible to try different ice-cream dishes – each one with a different ice-cream sauce. The cafe also welcomes pets! Special foods: Horseradish ice cream with herring. |

Guriliški Old-Believers Prayer House was built in the beginning
of the 20th century. It has a very old bell that was made in 1939.

Zilais (Blue) Hill is the highest point in the Idumeja highlands – it is a very distinct hillock covered by forest, and from it there is a “narrow” landscape featuring the northern part of the highlands, as well as the Burtnieks flatlands. The restricted area is there to protect habitats such as gullies, hillsides and the boreal (northern) forest of the area. Zilais Hill is a popular tourist destination.

Lielā dziesmu vieta "Dzintari" ir ievērojama ar to, ka tieši tur 1866. gadā norisinājās pirmie latviešu skolēnu koru svētki. Lai iezīmētu šo vietu, 2015. gada vasarā Madonas novada, Praulienas pagasta, Šūpuļkalnā (Madona – Varakļāni ceļa malā) tika uzstādīts Ivara Mailīša veidotais vides objekts “Latvija skan”. Šajā vietā atrodas arī māja, kurā dzīvojis ievērojamais koru virsdiriģents Haralds Mednis (1906-2000). Lai saglabātu mākslinieka piemiņu, 2016. gadā durvis vēra Haralda Medņa 20. gs. 30. gados uzceltā māja “Dzintari”. Tajā apskatāma izstādes par virsdiriģentu Haraldu Medni un Pirmajiem latviešu skolēnu koru svētkiem. Vietai dots skanīgs nosaukums – Lielā dziesmu vieta “Dzintari”. |

Sweet and sour rye bread is baked here on the hearth of a wood-fired oven, following an old family recipe and using home-grown, historical varieties of rye flour. The dough consists of rye or barley flour, salt, sugar, caraway seas and natural yeast. You can help to bake the bread, taste and buy it, and tour the farm’s museum. The farm grows its own grain in an environmentally friendly way. Available for purchase: sweet and sour rye bread, sweet and sour rye bread with peas, garlic, seeds, hemp, or without sugar. |

This is the thickest and mightiest Norwegian spruce (Picea abies) in Latvia. Its monolithic trunk, with its small holes, is unusual. The tree is in the overgrown park of the former Īve Estate, behind the ruins of the mansion.
