There is no need to enter the bog to see it, there are good views from the highway Ventspils – Riga (77 km, bus stop “Pagrieziens uz Elkskeni”). The main value of restricted area is chalky fen bog with brown bog-rush (greatest habitat finding in Latvia). Be careful when stopping on the highway – mind the traffic! A couple of kilometers towards Riga, on the right side of the highway, there is sign to Grizu Velna kresls ( Grizu Devil Chair) which is an attractive boulder (protected).

The museum has more than 120,000 objects which focus on the history of Liepāja and Southern Kurzeme from the Stone Age to the 19th century. Another exhibition is focused on the life and work of the wood sculptor Miķelis Pankoks (1894-1983). New art exhibitions are periodically staged at the museum. |

Divine Providence Catholic Church of Rikava (Baltini) was built in Doric style in 1929 by the donations
of landlord Alexander Riks. The church has icons „St. Antony” and „Jesus Christ appears to Mary
Magdalene”. Beside the church there is a cemetery and family vault of Riks.

Seen most often here are the red-throated and black-throated loon, the common shelduck, the long-tailed duck, the velvet scoter and the little gull. The territory is also important for the protection of reefs. It lies opposite the Dundaga, Roja and Engure administrative districts, as well as the city of Jūrmala, and it covers 132,173 hectares of territory. The marine parts of the Engure Nature Park and the Ķemeri National Park are covered.

The farm on the banks of the River Navesti is Estonia's largest company engaged in the cultivation and processing of organic medicinal herbs. Here, reverse osmosis equipment can press 95% of pure water from birch sap. As a result, the sugar content of the remaining birch sap concentrate reaches 33% Brix. The Narūta River which flows out of Lake Ežezers is approximately 1 km long and ends at the small Obiteļi windmill lake. On the right bank of the river is a windmill that was built around 1900. Today the site has the Obiteļa leisure centre with a sauna and banquet facilities. |

Between 1883 and 1891, the estate that was once owned by the Šadurskis family was rented by the father of the great poet Rainis, Krišjānis Pliekšāns. Rainis spent his youth at the estate, as reflected in the poet’s The Land of My Youth Days. Rainis translated Pushkin’s Boris Godunov while at the state. In honour of the poet and his contributions in the world of literature, an exhibition, “Rainis’ High School and University Years,” was opened at the estate in 1964. The restored cattle shed today offers a look at the work of potters in Latgale. |
