This is the thickest and mightiest Norwegian spruce (Picea abies) in Latvia. Its monolithic trunk, with its small holes, is unusual. The tree is in the overgrown park of the former Īve Estate, behind the ruins of the mansion.

Found on the right bank of the Saka River at Dzintaru Street 1, the museum is in the first red brick and fieldstone building in Pāvilosta. It was built in 1879 for ship pilots. The museum focuses on the history of the local region, particularly in terms of fishing and seafaring. Among the exhibits are stone and bone axes, bronze brooches and belts, as well as a unique honey press, all of which have been found in the Saka Parish. Alongside the museum is a boathouse with larger exhibits. A mansard that was opened in 2012 is a site for exhibitions and thematic events. The museum’s phone number is +371-6349-8276. The restaurant is situated in the centre of Rezekne city, alongside the Rēzekne University College in a building with vaulted cellars. The restaurant has an interesting interior design and its menu is developed according to the seasons of the year. The basic exhibition at the museum, “Traditions Related to the Sewing and Wearing of Bārta Folk Costumes From the 19th to the 21st Century”, features folk costumes for unmarried and married women, as well as for men, emphasising the diversity of elements therein. Visitors can help to embroider or weave blouses. The Bārta Ethnographic Ensemble offers two educational programmes – “The Bārta Folk Costume” and “Singing Women From Bārta”. |

"The heart of Latgale", where during the 9th – 12th century stood a fortified Latgalian castle. In 1285 Livonian Order began the construction of stone castle instead of Latgalian castle. After the collapse of Livonia (Rezekne in the composition of Poland) the city languished. Economic life in Rezekne restored in the second half of the 18th century. After the construction of St. Petersburg – Warsaw highway (1836) and railway (1861), Rezekne became a holiday destination for holidaymakers from St. Petersburg. During the World War II, buildings of the city significantly suffered. Today the town is an important economic and cultural centre of Latgale region. |

There are 39 different species of trees and bushes. It was built in 1870 by the order of duke Goļicins. It is
one of the rare truss buildings in Latgale.

In terms of territory, it is the most impressive dune range in the Baltics. This is the only place in the Baltics, where one can enjoy open dune sands that are still active and, under the influence of wind, form the so-called eolian relief forms. This is the 11th largest Estonian island, and its central section is covered by a broadleaf forest (linden, oak, elm and other trees) that is more than 100 years old. Along the shores, the Abruka Island has meadows and small areas of wetlands. Only the northern part of the island is populated. Few tourists come to call, which means that the island is relatively untouched by humankind.

Found in the Alsunga Museum, this workshop demonstrates how the folk costumes and accessories of the Suiti community are produced. Visitors can learn about weaving traditions in the area and examine the colourful range of folk costumes. Visitors are welcome to try their hand at the work under the guidance of experienced specialists. |

Viena no slepenākajām vietām kādreizējā Padomju Latvijā - bunkuri ir bijušais raķešu vadības punkts un patvertne. Bunkurus izveidoja 1950. un 1960. gadu mijā Padomju armijas vajadzībām. Par atrašanos šajā teritorijā draudēja bargs sods. Celtnes izveidošanai ar milzīgām 16- riteņu kravas automašīnām tika atvesti lieli dzelzbetona bloki. Pēc trīs bunkuru izveidošanas, papildus nostiprināšanai un nosiltināšanai tos apbēra ar granti. Celtne sastāv no 2 x 3 sekcijām, kas pievienotas vidējam gaitenim. Blakus ēkā atradās skola, kad 1946. gadā tā daļēji bija izdegusi, tika noslēgts līgums ar Padomju armijas garnizonu par telpu īri. Tā Valkas pilsētas centrā radās militārais centrs un Valka kļuva par Padomju Savienībai svarīgu kodolbruņojuma objektu. Objekts pieejams tikai no ārpuses! |

This medieval saloon is a true Middle Ages saloon situated on the premises of the Ventspils Castle of the Livonian Order, next to which the river Venta flows. The saloon is thoughtfully incorporated in the castle ensemble, the interior design and the foods that are served create a true feeling of the Middle Ages.
