Маршрут подходит для активных туристов, интересующихся многообразием природной и культурной среды национального парка «Кемери». Национальный парк «Кемери» (основан в 1997 г.) создан, прежде всего, для защиты водноболотных угодий – мелководного побережья Рижского залива, заросших прибрежных озер, болот, влажных лесов (трясин и др.) и пойменных лугов, как значимых мест произростания многих растений (~ 25 % от видов растений, занесенных в Красную книгу Латвии) и обитания животных, особенно мест скопления гнездящихся и перелетных птиц. На территории парка находится один из крупнейших заболоченных массивов Латвии – Большое Кемерское болото. Заболоченные массивы являются значимым местом образования и выхода сероводородных вод, а также местонахождения лечебных грязей, используемых в медицине, которые в свое время послужили основанием для создания известного курорта «Кемери». The Eastern breakwater was installed in the mid-19th century to reduce silt in the river valley and to regulate the flow of water. It is made of wooden pilings that are covered with rocks. The breakwater is 2.2 km long and has been rejuvenated as a popular place for hiking, leisure and fishing throughout the year. Birds can be watched from the breakwater, and sometimes people are lucky enough to spot a seal. At the start of the breakwater are two rocks with engraved text to say that the site was visited by Russian Tsar Alexander II in 1856 and by his heir, Nikolai Alexandrovich, in 1860. This points to the importance of the Rīga port in terms of Baltic Sea trade routes at that time. |

The domestic producer cooperative, which unites 29 producers and craftsmen of the Kuldīga region. The cooperative has its own shop in Pilsetas laukums 7A, Kuldiga, where it is possible to purchase all the products and goods produced by members of the cooperative. The store also offers seasonal delicacies and regular promotions, offering customers a wide and varied range of home-grown and home-made products. |

The family enterprise (formed in 2006) makes home-made ice-cream from fruit and berries. They make both classical – such as plombieres, cream, joghurt ice-creams and sorbets and nowadays cuisine’s „miracle”- sprat, blue cheese, horse-radish and potato ice-cream with tomato sauce. Till now 80 different ice-cream recipes have been tried. If you book a visit beforehand, you can have an excursion and learn everything about the process of making ice-cream from the chefs themselves. In the cafe it is possible to try different ice-cream dishes – each one with a different ice-cream sauce. The cafe also welcomes pets! Special foods: Horseradish ice cream with herring. |

This tree is in the park of the Sēja Estate and is one of the four trees in Latvia that have a circumference of more than four metres.

This path is found on the right bank of the ancient Abava river valley. The visitor will be able to view places where underground streams create wetlands, various kinds of meadows, a stand of juniper bushes, etc. The area is “managed” all year long by “wild” cows. The shore of the ancient valley can be climbed (some 200 steps), and the view is magnificent. It is recommended that the trail be visited in the company of a knowledgeable guide. There is a shorter path that is 600m long, along with a longer one that is more than a kilometre in length. It will take an hour or so to traverse it. Objects are found in the ancient Abava valley nature park.

The bridge was built in 1906. Part of it was blown up during World War I and later restored. During the Soviet occupation, one needed special permits to cross the bridge. Military ships and other vessels used the canal, because one of the largest military bases in the USSR was sited here. In the summer of 2006, one month before the bridge’s centenary, a Georgian-flagged tanker, the Anna, rammed into the northern support structure of the bridge, and that destroyed the bridge’s turning part beyond recognition. The bridge was renovated and reopened in 2009. You can look at the bridge and cross it at any time.This is a unique engineering monument, and it is the only drawbridge of its kind in the Baltic States. It takes just five minutes to turn the two parts of the bridge.

The saloon is on the Rīga-Liepāja highway (A9) at the 72nd km road marker. Live music evenings are organised. One of few places in Latvia (around 1 km to the North from Lapmezciems) where used to be beautiful juniper meadows. Since no agriculture activity (grass cutting, cattle grazing) has been implemented in the area, juniper meadows are overgrowing and disappearing. To save the area sustainable management is needed. Slitere National Park with Blue Mountain cliff and Slitere lighthouse is located in short distance from Kadiku nora (Juniper meadow).
