Aptuveni 2km garā Ķirbižu meža izziņas taka izveidota apļveidā gar Vitrupes abiem krastiem. Visā takas garumā var mācīties atpazīt Latvijas mežu raksturīgākos kokus, krūmus un augus. Šeit var aplūkot arī Vālodzes dižozolu (6.5 m). Upes labajā krastā, pie tā sauktā vīna pagrabiņa un kreisajā krastā apmēram 200 m no takas sākuma pie Meža muzeja, atklājas ainaviski skati uz ieleju un Vitrupi.

Jauns Zoo un izklaides vieta netālu no Siguldas, pie ceļa Turaida - Ragana. Tiks atvērts 2022. gada maijā.

(formerly Pize and Pizā in Livonian).  The current name of the village comes from a lighthouse (Mihailovskii majak) that was built during the age of the Russian Empire and named for the nephew of Tsar Alexander II.  The lighthouse that is there now is the third one to be built on the site.  It was built in 1957 and is the highest lighthouse in Latvia (57 m, can only be viewed from the outside).  The Lutheran church in Mikeļtornis was built in 1893, and nearby is the Pize Saloon (1857), which is terrible condition.  The saloon has a typical design from the 19th century and is the only venue of its type on the Livonian coastline.  The first Livonian cultural activist, Jānis Princis (1796-1868), was born in Miķeļtornis, and he and son Jānis translated the Gospel of Matthew into the Western Livonian language.  The two of them also wrote a collection of poetry, "Holy Songs and Prayers for Sailors."  The only poetry book in Latvia prior to that was published by Blind Indriķis.  A student of Vilhelms Purvītis, Livonian painter Andrejs Šulcs (1910-2006), was born at the Olmaņi homestead in Miķeļtornis.  A monument to Livonian poets was installed at the local cemetery in 1978 and was the first monument dedicated to Livonians.  There are plans to open an environmental object by artist Ģirts Burvis, "Century of Sailing Ships", in 2019.

This tour offers a look at modern farms that based their work on ancient jobs and skills.  Everything that is grown and processed in Latvia's countryside is found at the Central Market in Rīga, where this tour begins.  It is one of the largest and oldest markets in Europe.  From there you will travel to several farms to taste candy made of natural juices, cheese, grain foods, yogurt and ice cream.  You will visit a traditional farm with a technology museum.  Each farm will offer a brief introductory tour.  Along the way, you will visit the Rundāle Castle and its park and rose garden, which were designed by the 18th century architect Rastrelli and are a true jewel of Baroque and Rococo architecture.  In Bauska you will visit City Hall to see a collection of old measuring items, the Bauska Castle and the Bauska brewery.  In Lithuania you will visit farms that grow lavender, medicinal plants and hemp.  They will be happy to sell their products to you.  The town of Anykščiai offers a trail above the trees, and the Krenave archaeological complex is on the UNESCO heritage list.  At the conclusion of the tour, you will visit the Trakai lake castle that was built in the 14th and 15th centuries, as well as Vilnius.

This progressive biological farm grows some 50 types of biological vegetables and greens.  The farmers own 10 ha of land where they grow various vegetables outdoors and in greenhouses in the Biržu region.
