The café is on the banks of the Daugava River between Stukmaņi and Pļaviņas, offering a bakery, shop and café. There are dozens of types of bread, biscuits, tortes, cakes and other baked goods. Latvian cuisine: Dumpling or sorrel soup, farmer’s breakfast, eggs sunny side up, pork ribs, grey peas, potato pancakes with salmon, crepes, blackberry crème. Ikšķiles vārds Pirmā pasaules kara laikā izskan saistībā ar diviem notikumiem – Ikšķiles priekštilta nocietinājumiem (Nāves sala) un kaujām pie Mazās Juglas upes. 1917. gadā 1. septembra rītausmā Vācijas impērijas armija uzsāka uzbrukumu iepretim Ikšķilei ar mērķi ieņemt Rīgu un saņemt gūstā Krievijas 12. armiju. Ar spēcīgu artilērijas atbalstu vācu vienības izsita Krievijas armijas karavīru daļas no Ikšķiles pozīcijām, kas savukārt ļāva Vācijas armijas karavīriem pa trim pontonu tiltiem šķērsot Daugavas upi. 1.septembra pēcpusdienā vācu izlases vienības sasniedza Mazās Juglas upes apkārtni pie Tīnūžiem, kur tām negaidīti ceļu aizšķērsoja no rezerves steigā atsauktā 8000 vīru lielā 2. latviešu strēlnieku brigāde, kura ieņēma pozīcijas gar Mazās Juglas upi. Latviešu strēlniekiem tika pavēlēts aizkavēt vācu karavīrus, līdz visa 200 00 vīru lielā Krievijas 12. armija izies no aplenkuma, nenokļūstot vācu gūstā. Latviešu strēlnieki savu uzdevumu izpildīja pilnībā, diennakti cīnoties pret gandrīz desmitkārtīgu vācu pārspēku. Kauja pie Mazās Juglas upes bija viena no traģiskākajām un reizē viena no leģendārākajām Latvijas vēstures lapaspusēm. "Tīnūžu muižā" ir izveidota 1. Pasaules kara tēmai un Juglas kaujām veltīta ekspozīcija. |

Sts. Simon and Judas Roman Catholic Church of Dricāni was
built in 1859 on the top of the hill. There is the wooden altar of the Holy Spirit, decorated with woodcarvings, wooden statuettes and the icon of Simon and Jude.

Located in the North of Saldus, half a kilometre from the Riga-Liepāja highway (A9). Saldus Maiznieks ltd (Saldus baker), founded in 1992, is a family business in the second generation, which produces about 2 tons of rye bread every day. Bread is made with scour and natural leaven. There are various pastries and confectionery products, garlic croutons also produced. The quality of the work is monitored by three certified journeyman bakers who are members of the Latvian Chamber of Crafts. Company offers interactive excursions through the bakery, during which the visitors can enjoy the role of a baker – they are going through the bakery and doing the jobs that match their age – sift the flour, take the bread out of the oven, form the bread loaves, and can try different ingredients of bread. The tour is led by Kristīne Kriņģele, the craftswoman of the Latvian Chamber of Crafts. The company also produces white bread, pastries and garlic toasts. Products can be purchased on spot. |

The highest and most beautiful wall of cliffs on Saaremaa Island (up to 21 m high), stretching along some 3 km. During strong winds from the W or NW, a part of the cliff is washed by the waves of the sea. The open face of the cliff has limestone, marls and dolomite, and there is a wealth of fossils at the base of the cliff – corals, stromatoporids, etc.

Approximately one kilometre to the west of the former Vārnava school, you will find the Rudzīši homestead, which is owned by Ēvalds Pūpols and his family. Ēvalds has spent most of his life cultivating grapes and developing new varieties thereof. On the hilly territory, he has established a beautiful and well-tended area to grow grapes that love warmth. The vineyard has approximately 60 types of grapes. Facing south-east, this is one of Latvia's largest and most diverse vineyards. There are many trails to learn about the garden and its beautiful surrounding area. The owner will offer guide services, and you can learn all about the growing and selection of grapes. You can purchase plants, and if the season has been productive, you can taste the grapes as such. Rudzīši hosts a harvest festival and other events. |

In the house that was renovated due to the initiative of the Craftsmen society of Beverina, it is possible to buy the products of both the district craftsmen and those from further territories, to visit creative workshops and events in order to learn the techniques of differnt handicrafts. The house is both a teaching centre and a marketplace, as well as the centre to popularise the cultural, folk and Latvian lifestyle of the Beverina district. |

Pļaviņu HES ēka ir apvienota ar ūdens pārgāzi, zem kuras atrodas Latvijas garākais tunelis - Enerģētiķu iela. 20. gs. deviņdesmitajos gados Pļaviņu HES rekonstruēja un tagad tās jauda ir sasniegusi 870 MW. Apmeklētāji var iepazīt mašīnzāli, skatu laukumus un HES maketu. |

The tower on the eastern shore of Lake Engure (next to the meadow for wild cattle, accessible from the side of Bērzciems) offers a view of the reeds, small islands, Great Island, cows and horses of the north-eastern part of the lake. The tower on the northern shore of the lake (accessible from the side of Mērsrags) offers a look at the boating facility and the very overgrown northern part of the lake. The tower at the north-western shore of the lake (accessible from the side of Ķūļciems) shows the Apaļrova island (a footpath), stands of juniper, the boating facility, and the mosaic-like landscape of the lake itself.

This is one of the oldest museums in Vidzeme and features interesting discoveries from the Middle Ages and the Iron Age, some of which were found around Lake Lubāna. Employees organise thematic exhibitions related to the culture and history of the administrative district, as well as art exhibitions. The museum is in the historical buildings of the former Birži Estate. |

The artist Agris Liepiņš was the initiator of the project to recreate a 12th-century Ancient Latvian wooden castle. The building was erected in 1997 on the basis of samples from the remnants of castles found at various castle hills in Latvia. This is an idealised version of the residence of Uldevens, who was once the senior official of the Lielvārde region.

This little tram offers a great opportunity to return to history, when small trams were found all over Latvia. Until the 1960s, there was a narrow-gauge railroad that linked shoreline fishing villages along the shores of Northern Kurzeme. Only a few remnants of the old tracks can still be found in nature, and there are only a few train stations or parts thereof. Visitors to the Ventspils Open Air Museum can take the 1.4 km Circle Line or the 3 km Mountain Line. The locomotive was built in Germany in 1916, and the museum features a station building with all of its elements. |
