Один из них – Иоганн Альберт Корф (1697 - 1766.) был президентом Петербургской Академии наук (1734 - 1740 гг.), дипломатом и литератором, который занимался исследованием истории Курземе. Приекульский замок находится на западе от улицы Айзпуте, на берегу реки Вирга. Первоначально дворец господской усадьбы построили в XVIII веке, а в конце XIX века велись большие работы по перестройке здания (проект Пауля Макса Берчи). В здании находится Приекульская средняя школа. Примерно в 100 м к востоку от господской усадьбы возвышается смотровая башня усадьбы (построена в конце XIX века), над которой развевается государственный флаг Латвии. |

Located in the centre of Dikļi, the 1896 castle was renovated into a four-star hotel in 2003. The castle offers a look at antique furnishings, fireplaces and ovens, as well as paintings by Latvian artists. Two restaurants (summer and winter) offer fine dining and an individualised approach. The castle works with local farms. Latvian cuisine: Beefsteak, grilled trout, smoked wild board bacon, filet of pike from Lake Burtnieki, seasonal mushrooms and berries. Kampišķi Old-Believers Prayer House was reconstructed in 1931
by architect V. Šervinskis. The building is very high and spacious; has two cells and a rectangular belltower with the cross on the top.

Viewing area is at the end of the Ēvaži shore trail (300 metres). The shore here has been washed by the waves and is up to 15 metres high. This is the only place along the Kurzeme shore of the Bay of Rīga where a high dune opens up such a lovely view of the bay water.

Für den Schutz des Hafens von Klaipeda wurde 1866 von preussischer Militär den Bau einer Festung angefangen. Im Laufe des 2.Weltkriegs wurde die Festung in die Luft gesprängt. Die Renovierung begann 1979. |
