The vineyard of the ABAVA family winery covers 3.5 ha at this time, and is being expanded year by year. We have a wide range of types of grapes, and we harvest them each year to produce a limited amount of wine. The winery was set up by the family of Mārtiņš and Liene Barkāns, and it is a well-developed company which produces high-quality beverages from fruits and berries that are grown in Latvia. The small winery of the holiday house "Spilve" offers to buy and taste grape wines and distillates. The unique products are made from home-grown grapes, apples, rhubarb and honey. The “Upenite” country house is located on the southern shore of Lake Ciritis. This farm nurtures Lettigalian traditions, serves Lettigalian foods, produces dairy products (including cheeses), grows local plants (which you can purchase), and offers a chance to visit a proper Lettigalian black sauna. The owners themselves will serve as the sauna masters. Master’s classes in the baking of tortes are offered. |

By the beekeeping farm “Kalniņi” there is a Bee Hut – small wooden house in which you can feel the presence of bees. The hives with seven bee families are built-in the sides of the Bee Hut, but inside the building they are designed as beds or seats. When looking at the building from the outside you can see the bee runs and also bees themselves. In addition, “Kalniņi” also offer different types of bee products – honey, pollen bread, beautiful and aromatic wax candles. It is possible to taste beekeeping products and enjoy a cap of warm tea. Families with kids can participate in educational workshops, learn how to make wax candles and gain information about the daily life in the beekeeping farm. Since summer 2018 everyone can also visit the House of Crafts, where you can participate in different activities such as Encaustic painting (also known as hot wax painting), create wooden souvenirs with burnt folk signs as well as create wax candles etc. The House of Crafts offers different itineraries for grownups, kids, youngsters and newlyweds. The “Rozītes” rose garden is found in the Sēme Parish in Kurzeme, and it covers a bit less than 3 hectares. There are more than 3,000 rose plants in the garden with 300 different varieties. There are also perennials and rare trees in the garden. Visitors will enjoy three lovely ponds which have fish in them, but they are meant more for beauty and relaxation. You can watch the fish from the terrace, walk across a flower island, and go to our amphitheatre to listen to relaxing music. On a hot summer day, visit the “water rock” to hear the bubbling sound of the surrounding water. Daila and Bruno Trubiņš will be happy to give you a tour of the garden and tell you all about the plants and how to care for them. You can purchase rose and perennial plants. Each June we organise a Rose Festival with an extensive programme for adults and children alike. Visitors are welcome to taste rose jam and drinks made of rose petals. We can host seminars, concerts, weddings and photo sessions. The garden is open from May until the end of September, and we particularly welcome visitors when the flowers are in full bloom. The house is on the banks of the Pilda River. It is a biological farm with fruits, berries, vegetables and honey prepared and served in honour of Lettigalian traditions. "Aizupmajas" offers a traditional Lettigalian black sauna with linden or oak branch switches and herbal teas. You can also take part in farm work or spend the night in the restored granary. The restaurant is situated in Skulte district – 8 km away from Saulkrasti, in the direction of Minhauzen Museum. It is on a steep cliff alongside the sea, with a lovely view of the sea from the summer terrace during sunsets. The restaurant works with local fishermen, and the restaurant’s menu consists mostly of high quality local Baltic sea fish. Here you can examine and purchase crafts by more than 40 Lettigalian craftspeople. A guide dressed in an Ancient Lettigalian folk costume will tell you about the lives of ancient Baltic tribes, the emergence of craftsmanship in the region, ancient laws related to ethics and work, and traditions. There are demonstrations of the crafts and lessons about the ancient skills. Groups can enjoy a luncheon of Lettigalian dishes, and learn how to bake bread and prepare beverages in an old-fashioned Lettigalian kitchen. The local craftsmen's salon and home producer's store Cymuss and Latgaļu kukņa, a member of the Latgale culinary heritage network. For groups, Latgaļu kukņa offers lunches and a special skills school for learning to prepare Latgalian food, bread and drinks. The countryside house offers a comfortable and cozy environment for relaxation close to nature. The house features a spacious bedroom with a large king-size bed and a pull-out chair, providing a comfortable stay for guests. There is both a shower and a bathtub available, as well as a large kitchen equipped with everything necessary for cooking. The bedroom has a fireplace that creates a particularly cozy atmosphere on cooler evenings. The outdoor area includes several terraces where guests can grill or set up a table for a meal in the fresh air. Approximately 100 meters away is a two-story sauna house. The ground floor includes a sauna, a small kitchenette with a sink, and a washing area with a shower and toilet. The second floor offers sleeping accommodations for six people and a TV for relaxation. Near the sauna house, there is a pond where guests can swim. |

The craftspeople produce interesting clay cups with text, drawings and animal figurines inside them. You can take a tour, watch the specialists at work, and engrave your own texts on dishware. The farm produces hemp from which it produces hemp butter, roughly ground seeds, as well as hemp oil. The granary, which is 101 years old, features antique instruments once used to process hemp fibres. Visitors can taste and purchase delicious products and take an exciting tour which speaks to the history of hemp farming.
