In Metsanurme Village Centre you can see restored old threshing barn, limestone barn oven and few tools that were used ages ago. You could be also interested in seeing an outdoor exhibition which focuses on historical agricultural tools. All of this is made to look interesting to not only locals but also visitors.

Immaculate Conception of Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church of Nautrēni (Rogovka). The construction works of the brick church lasted from 1901 till 1914. It is an example of Romantesque style. The organ was bought in 1939; it is a national cultural monument.

From the historical and architectural perspective, this is an interesting monument to urban construction between the 17th and 19th centuries.  Old Liepāja is in the area of the old market and Kuršu Square, where merchants sold their wares beginning in the 1560s.  Until 1792, Kuršu Square was also where punishments were implemented.  The current Pētertirgus pavilion was installed alongside the square in 1910.  A map shows that the network of streets has partly preserved the chaos of street planning that was typical in Medieval towns.

The classical skyline of Old Rīga can be enjoyed from several locations – Mūkusalas Street, between the railroad bridge and the stone bridge, from the stone bridge, from the A-B dam, from the grounds of the central office of the Swedbank bank, from the Vanšu bridge, and from the Ballast Dam at Ķīpsala. BURSH brewery – one of the smallest breweries in Latvia which is situated between Zemgale, Vidzeme, Latgale and Selija territories – in the Plavinu territory of Aiviekste district. Beer connoisseurs are offered dark and light beer BURSH. BURSH is made of water, barley malt, hop and yeast, is boiled on a firewood stove, fermented in oak barrels and prepared for 30 days. LLC „ECOS” uses only natural raw material in the process of brewing. Beer is made according to the special recipes made especially for BURSH brewery and with attention to traditiaonal methods of brewing beer.

This is one of the most lovely and expressive castle hills in Latvia, with a very fine view of territory all the way to Lithuania. According to Ernests Brastiņš, a researcher of castle hills in Latvia, this was the site of the Semigalian Sidrabene castle. There are no improvements in the area.

National partisans commanded by Rihards Pārups were very active during World War II between Vietalva and Jaunkalsnava. The team was disbanded in 1946. The dugout is at a location that is hard to find and access. It is in the nature reserve of the Veseta Wetlands Swamp. The wood pathway that leads from the East is often hidden by reeds during the summer. During the fierce winter of 2010, the roof of the dugout collapsed, but local enthusiasts plan to reconstruct it. Alongside the dugout is a white cross inscribed with the names of the partisans who lost their lives here.

The Peipsi barge is a type of sailing ship specially adapted to Lake Peipsi and Emajõgi River conditions, and originates from the 14th C. Jõmmu was the first barge launched in 2006 following a 50-year gap. The Emajõgi River Barge Association runs varied trips on the Emajõgi River and Lake Peipsi. Little fans of barges can learn about old crafts and shipbuilding at the barge yard.

The area known as the territory of high hillocks has several heights – Lakta Hill (250 metres above sea level), Egļu Hill (268 metres above sea level), and Bākūži Hill (272 metres above sea level). They are connected by an earthen road – it’s worth hiking the trail to find the best viewing areas. A very fine view of the backs of hillocks in the Vidzeme highlands can be seen from the northern side of Lakta Hill.

When you drive down the Nereta-Ilūkste road, the church, which was built in 1805 and restored in 1888, can be seen from a distance. The altar, pulpit and organ prospectus are all original. German soldiers who fell during World War I are buried outside of the church. Two plaques on the western wall of the building honour residents of the Laši Parish who died during the First World War, as well as those local residents who suffered Soviet repressions.
