Viena no slepenākajām vietām kādreizējā Padomju Latvijā - bunkuri ir bijušais raķešu vadības punkts un patvertne. Bunkurus izveidoja 1950. un 1960. gadu mijā Padomju armijas vajadzībām. Par atrašanos šajā teritorijā draudēja bargs sods. Celtnes izveidošanai ar milzīgām 16- riteņu kravas automašīnām tika atvesti lieli dzelzbetona bloki. Pēc trīs bunkuru izveidošanas, papildus nostiprināšanai un nosiltināšanai tos apbēra ar granti. Celtne sastāv no 2 x 3 sekcijām, kas pievienotas vidējam gaitenim. Blakus ēkā atradās skola, kad 1946. gadā tā daļēji bija izdegusi, tika noslēgts līgums ar Padomju armijas garnizonu par telpu īri. Tā Valkas pilsētas centrā radās militārais centrs un Valka kļuva par Padomju Savienībai svarīgu kodolbruņojuma objektu. Objekts pieejams tikai no ārpuses! |

One of the most popular areas of uncovered sandstone in Latvia, known for its unusually smooth and sound-reflecting cliff wall (around 12m in height). Located on the right bank of the Salaca river, there is a place for tenting. A fun experiment is to stand in various closes opposite the cliff and to speak quietly. The echo will be heard either by the speaker or by people who are standing elsewhere. Located in the Salaca valley nature park and the Skaņaiskalns park.

For more than a century now, the Gūtmaņa cave has been a popular tourist destination. It is the widest (12 m) and highest (up to 10 m) cave in Latvia. It is more of niche, actually, because its depth is just 18.8 metres. The cave is an interesting geological monument, as well as an important cultural and historical place with lots of legends, among which the most popular one centres on a woman called the rose of Turaida. It seems, however, that of the greatest historical values are the engravings on the walls and ceilings of the cave. The oldest date back to the late 17th century. A stream flows out of the cave, and it continues to shape it. People believe that the water from the stream has medicinal properties. Nearby there is Tourist Information Centre Gutmanala. SIA N. Bomja bakery “Lielezers” is a sole proprietor enterprise of Normunds Bomis, founded in 1991 and located 3 km from Limbaži. The story of this bakery started more than 25 years ago, when craftsman Alberts Blumbergs’ knowledge and experience was put into practice and very delicious rye bread was made. In the bakery, traditional salinātā rye bread is made by hand, maturing scalded flour in aspen tubs for 24 hours and fermenting with sourdough. Salinātā rye bread is registered in the EU food quality scheme as a product with traditional speciality guaranteed. Bread baking is led by the experienced master bakers Lāsma Bome and Valters Kanopa. Kūrorts bija ļoti populārs un katru gadu arvien vairāk viesu brauca šurp ārstēties. Īsi pirms I Pasaules kara atklāja elektriskā tramvaja satiksmi starp Ķemeriem un jūru - Jaunķemeriem.
