Found in the northern part of Cesvaine, the church was built of fieldstones in the Neo-Gothic style in 1879 by the architect Paul Max Bertschy.  The church was restored in 1929 and again in the early 1990s.  The altar painting, “Christ on the Cross” (1923) is by Jēkabs Bīne.

1339. g. Livonijas ordeņa mestrs (no 1328. – 1340.) Eberhards fon Monheims pašu zemgaļu 1286. g. nodedzinātās pils vietā uzceļ jaunu - mūra pili. To sešus gadus vēlāk nodedzināja lietuviešu karaspēks. Pili gan atjaunoja Kurzemes hercoga Ketlera valdīšanas laikā, taču Ziemeļu kara laikā - 1701. g. to atkal noposta zviedru karapulki. Līdz mūsdienām ir saglabājusies tikai no laukakmeņiem celtās pils sienas atliekas.

This medieval saloon is a true Middle Ages saloon situated on the premises of the Ventspils Castle of the Livonian Order, next to which the river Venta flows. The saloon is thoughtfully incorporated in the castle ensemble, the interior design and the foods that are served create a true feeling of the Middle Ages.

The word zivis means fish, and the name of the street is derived from a fish market that once existed at the end of the street near Kurši Square.  There are old log warehouses in the yard of Zivju Street 4/6 and the yard of Peldu Street 2.  One of the most popular destinations for tourists is the Latvian alley of fame for musicians (since 2006), with bronze replications of the palms of hands of 35 Latvian musicians.  There are ten plaques dedicated to popular bands in Latvia, with five others focusing on musicians who have passed away.  The largest guitar in Latvia is right nearby.

The nature park in the Ogre River valley is found along the middle section of the river. It has been established so as to protect the unregulated river valley and its surrounding territory, as well as biological diversity and habitats. For instance, this is an area in which rare park-type meadows can be found in Latvia. The Ogre is one of Latvia’s most popular rivers for water tourism in the spring, particularly downriver from the town of Ērgļi, where the technically complicated Braži rapids are found.

Mežvidi (SIA Latgale Vegetable Logistics) began operations in 2007 and sells tasty and healthy red tomatoes.  The owners plan to grow and deliver tomatoes during the winter, when people have the greatest need for healthy and vitamin-rich vegetables.  The farm helps to facilitate co-operation among people who farm vegetables, and it informs the public about how tomatoes are grown.

2015. gadā uzceltais skatu tornis atrodas dabas parkā „Daugavas loki”, Daugavas ielejas kreisajā krastā – Daugavpils novada Vescalienas pagastā. No torņa aplūkojama izcilā Daugavas loku ainava.

Целостное здание церкви строилось в 1780 – 1781 гг. во времена барона Х.Ф. Бера, а перестраивалось в 1876 и 1888 гг. Церковь известна своим алтарем и кафедрой, выполненными в стиле рококо, и построенным в первой половине XVIII века органом. Церковь можно осмотреть изнутри.

This territory protects the shore of the onetime Baltic lake of ice, which most significant part stretches for 10 kilometres on the eastern side of the Grobiņa-Ventspils highway from Kapsēde till Vērgale bus stop. From the top of this ancient shoreline there is a lovely view of the Piejūra lowlands, but no specific viewing areas or information stands have been installed. There are protected species and habitats in the territory.
